Today I am here to show you the second Criss Cross SHO!odie that I made while testing this pattern by Einfach SHO! I already showed you the first one in green here.

Hoy llego a Mimi derrapando para enseñaros el segundo Criss Cross SHO!odie que me hice cuando estuve probando este patrón de Einfach SHO! El primero, que me hice de sudadera verde, ya os lo había enseñado aquí.

Because I made this during the testing process, this wasn't the end version of the pattern yet and fit isn't as good as in the green one. But I still love it so much in this fabric, a double face interlock jersey from Cal Joan.

Hice esta sudadera durante el testing del patrón y aquí no teníamos aún la versión definitiva del patrón, por lo que el ajuste no es tan chulo como en la verde, pero aún así me encanta como quedó con esta tela, un punto de jersey interlock de doble cara de Cal Joan.

The pattern goes from size 34 to 54. I made a size 38. As you can see, the front overlaps and is held together only at the hemband. Therefore it is quite open and you will need to wear something else underneath. 

El patrón incluye las tallas 34 a 54. Yo hice la 38. Como veis, el delantero es cruzado y está unido solo por la parte inferior, con lo que queda bastante abierto y hay que llevar una camiseta debajo.

And now to the fun facts. I love how these photos came out. Sometimes you come accross the best background on the most unexpected places.... I am pretty sure that you would never guess this was the exterior wall of a public toilet hahaha.

Estas fotos salieron muy chulas. Desde luego, los mejores fondos se encuentran muchas veces en los lugares más inesperados. ¿Cómo os quedáis si os digo que esto era la pared exterior de unos lavabos públicos? jajaja...

I had wanted to visit La Fageda d'en Jordà natural reserve for a long time. The last time that we walked into this magical beech forest was many many years ago. And then a short trip was planned and I immediately envisioned the photo shoot. Then life happened and I wasn't feeling very well that day, and my face looks awful on all the pictures, but oh well, just focus on the scenery, ok? And on my new clothes, of course! :)

Hacía mucho tiempo que quería volver a La Fageda d'en Jordà. Habían pasado ya demasiados años desde la última vez que nos adentramos en este bosque mágico. Y justo después de planificar una mini escapada, pude imaginar claramente la sesión de fotos que haríamos. Pero siempre pasan cosas, y ese día resultó que no me encontraba muy bien, así que mi cara es un poco de circunstancias en todas las fotos. Pero bueno, fijaros en el paisaje y en mi ropa ¿vale? :)

Let me introduce to you the newest pattern by Einfach SHO! that has been released today. The SHO!MaxiRock, a maxi skirt designed for knit fabrics like jersey or even sweat, with a gathered front, a plain or gathered back, elastic waistband, decorative ties and of course, pockets. 

The PDF pattern is available to print in A4 or A0, comes in sizes 32 - 54 and includes very detailed and illustrated instructions. You can see all the results from the pattern testing here.

Os presento el nuevo patrón de Einfach SHO! que sale a la venta justo hoy. La SHO!MaxiRock, una maxi falda diseñada para telas de punto, finas con caída o incluso más gruesas como sudadera. Lleva un delantero fruncido, trasero con o sin fruncido, cinturilla elástica, un lazo decorativo y, por supuesto, bolsillos.

El patrón PDF incluye las tallas 32-54. Se puede imprimir en A4 o A0 y viene con instrucciones detalladas y muy bien ilustradas. Aquí podéis ver fotos de todas las testers.

I made mine out of ponte roma. It is stretchy and so comfortable. It obviously requires quite some yardage, but it is also really easy to sew. I made size 40.

Para mi falda usé un punto roma con bastante elasticidad y caída. Evidentemente se requiere bastante tela, pero por otro lado es muy fácil de coser. Yo hice la talla 40.

Now I must confess that I have a very strange relationship with long skirts. I love them, but I don't wear them in public lol. The truth is that I would feel a bit selfconscious walking on the street like that. Not because of the skirt, but because of my own stupidity. But anyways, the thing is that I do love maxi skirts, so I made it, and I will wear it at home. And since I spend the biggest part of the day at home, it will get a lot of wear. Now that it is getting colder, I plan to wear it with leggings or pants underneath and it will be like walking around wrapped in a blanket, but in a totally cool and fashionable way.

Tengo que confesar que mi relación con las faldas largas no es muy convencional. Por un lado me encantan, pero por el otro, no las llevo en público jaja... Lo cierto es que me daría vergüenza salir así a pasear por la calle. Y no es por la falda, que es chulísima, sino por mi propia tontería mental. Pero bueno, el hecho es que me encantan las maxi faldas, así que me la he cosido y la voy a llevar por casa, lo cual significa que va a tener mucho uso, porque en casa es donde paso casi todo el día. Y ahora que ha llegado el frío, pienso ponerme unos pantalones o leggings debajo y será como andar por aquí envuelta en una manta, pero de forma mucho más fashion y estilosa jaja.

I wish this place was at a walking distance from my home. I would just go there every single day for a peaceful walk. 

Ojalá este sitio estuviera aquí al lado para ir a dar un largo paseo todos los días.

Now let's move to the upper part of my outfit. Did you recognise the pattern? There you go my Toaster Sweater #1 by Sew House Seven, out of toasty thick winter sweat. I bought the pattern some time ago and it finally arrived its moment. I have to say that I really love it and will make another one for sure!

Y ahora pasemos a la parte superior. ¿Reconocéis el patrón? Es el Toaster Sweater #1 de Sew House Seven. Compré el patrón hace tiempo y finalmente le llegó su momento. Lo he hecho de sudadera de invierno muy calentita y me encanta. Este patrón lo repito seguro.

And so, by the magic of the flying leaves, I got a new and beautiful home outfit that is comfortable, warm and cat friendly. As much as I like dark colors, when you live with three cats you learn to match your clothes to their fur, otherwise you will look like a big mess after every cat on the lap session lol.

Y así, por la magia de las hojas voladoras, tengo nuevo conjunto chulo para estar por casa que cumple todos los requisitos: cómodo, calentito y gatiapto. Por mucho que me guste vestir con colores más oscuros, cuando vives con tres gatos que hacen turnos rotativos para tener tu regazo siempre ocupado, acabas aprendiendo a combinar la ropa con el color de su pelo, así que se disimulen un poco, ¿no? jejeje.

Farfar Cardigan II

Today I will show you the first Farfar Cardigan by Wardrobe by me that I made for my husband. I already showed you the second one here a few days ago.

Hoy os enseño el primer Farfar Cardigan de Wardrobe by me que hice para Ribi. Hace unos días ya os enseñé el segundo aquí.

The pattern includes two options for the collar, and for this one I made the shawl collar placket.

El patrón incluye dos versiones y en este hice el cuello vuelto.

The fabric is a very cool distressed denim effect ponte roma that I bought in Cal Joan. It was very easy to work with and gives the cardigan a complete different look than the other one.

La tela es de Cal Joan, un punto roma con efecto denim desteñido. Aquí se ve claramente como cambia un patrón según la tela que utilices. Los dos cardigans que he hecho han quedado totalmente diferentes.

Because this was the first one that I made, I chose the wrong size and came out way too big. I did take in and was able to save it, but somehow it is still obvious that the original size wasn't the right one.

Como este fue el primero que hice, pagué la novatada. Elegí mal la talla y salió enorme. Después le metí por todos lados y pude salvarlo, pero aún así se nota que la talla original era demasiado grande.

Luxy Bag by Rosa DIY

I made a new and wonderful bag and couldn't like it more. This is the new Luxy Bag pattern by Rosa DIY. It is in German and includes very detailed instructions with a lot of pictures.

Hoy vengo a MiMi para enseñaros el nuevo bolso que me he hecho. ¡No podría gustarme más! Se trata del nuevo patrón Luxy Bag de Rosa DIY. Es un patrón alemán con instrucciones muy detalladas y un montón de fotos de todos los pasos.

I was lucky to be in the tester team for this one and I really recommend you to take a look at all the amazing bags everyone did. Here you get to the lookbook with a milion pictures!

Formar parte del equipo de testers del patrón fue muy divertido y solo puedo recomendaros que echéis un vistazo al Lookbook con un millón de fotos de todas las versiones chulísimas que se han hecho. Podéis verlo aquí.

The pattern includes three different sizes for the bag. I made the smallest one, because I normally don't really need to carry a lot of stuff. But it is still big enough to fit all the basics. In the biggest size you can even carry a laptop, and the size in between is exactly that, in between hehe.

El patrón incluye tres tamaños distintos para el bolso. Yo he hecho el más pequeño, porque normalmente no suelo ir muy cargada de cosas. Aún así, es lo suficientemente grande para llevar lo básico. La versión más grande te permite incluso llevar un portátil. Y la versión intermedia es eso, intermedia jeje.

The bag features several pockets and compartments both inside and outside. These two zippers on the front share a big pocket in the center, although some testers have changed it so that the zipper opens to a pocket at each side.

El bolso tiene varios bolsillos y compartimentos, tanto dentro como fuera. Estas dos cremalleras de delante se abren hacia un mismo bolsillo central, aunque algunas testers lo modificaron para que se abrieran cada una hacia un lateral.

I really love this faux leather look with the metal zippers. It is totally neutral and won't give me any problems to combine it with my clothes and jackets. Plus I have the feeling that it looks like a real handbag, don't you feel so? 

Me encanta como queda la polipiel con las cremalleras metálicas. Ha quedado un estilo muy neutro que podrá combinar sin problemas con toda mi ropa y mis chaquetas. Además da la sensación de que es un bolso de verdad, ¿no os parece? La tela la tenía en casa desde hace tiempo. La compré en Ribes i Casals un día que tenían todos los retales a mitad de precio, por aquello de "seguro que algún día le das uso", y mira tú por dónde, el día llegó.

In the next picture you can see the small zipper pocket on the center at the back, and the cool recessed zipper on the top. Again, this totally looks like a real handbag.

En la imagen siguiente podéis ver el bolsillo con cremallera en la parte trasera y también la cremallera superior, que no sé cómo se llama pero queda metida así hacia dentro.

Inside the bag there is a big zipper pocket that is caught on the seams and divides the bag in two compartments, which is perfect to keep everything organized. I used some Ikea fabric for the lining.

En el interior, el bolso lleva otro gran bolsillo con cremallera que queda cogido por las costuras y divide el espacio en dos compartimentos. Es perfecto para llevarlo todo bien organizado. La tela interior es de Ikea.

 It was a bit hard to do the topstitching on my machine. This faux leather refused to slip through the machine no matter what I tried. Luckily, in the tester group they shared some tricks with me that really helped a lot. The only thing that would probably solve completely the problem would be to change my machine though lol... I need more power!

Appart from that, I used costume foam to give it more body. 

Los pespuntes no quedaron muy bien. No había manera de deslizar la polipiel debajo del prensatelas. Por suerte me dieron algunos trucos en el grupo de testers para salvar la situación. Aunque en realidad, la única solución de verdad sería cambiarme la máquina, que se me ha quedado ya bastante corta y me falta potencia!

Aparte de eso, usé el famoso foam para disfraces de Cal Joan para darle algo de cuerpo.

The Lunar Collection - Chris W Designs Global Blog Tour

To the Moon and "bag", that is how much I love what I am going to show you here today.

Cómo ya vengo anunciando desde hace unos días, hoy vengo a mostraros algo muy alucinante.

So, it turns out that I am taking part in the amazing Chris W Designs Global Blog Tour and to be honest, I don't even really know how I got there. There was a call on Facebook and that's all that I can remember. Next I know is me sewing the most elaborate Full Moon ever. Not that I had actually sewn a moon before. But there must be a first time for everything, right? Sewing the moon people! Is that amazing or not?

¡Resulta que formo parte del fantástico Chris W Designs Global Blog Tour! Para ser sincera no acabo de entender cómo he llegado hasta aquí. Hubo un anuncio en Facebook y lo siguiente que recuerdo es estar cosiendo una luna llena de lo más elaborada. ¡He cosido la luna! ¡No me diréis que no suena tentador!

Ok, I might have gotten overly excited about the name of this pattern, The Lunar Collection, but isn't it just beautiful? I have to tell you many things today, and I hope that I won't forget anything, but just let me note here quickly that this is a huge party and there is going to be giveaways, discounts and prizes (yes, in plural!). Vale, es posible que me haya emocionado más de la cuenta con el nombre de este patrón, The Lunar Collection, pero no me diréis que no es bonito. Chris W Designs is an Australian brand of pdf sewing patterns for all kind of bags. Behind it, Christine Welsh, the most hilarious woman. If you need proof of that, please go check this video.

In her online shop, you can find many bag sewing patterns of different sewing levels and styles. I was provided the pattern for free and was allowed to choose which one I wanted to make for the blog tour and I went for the Lunar Collection. The reason why I chose that one might very well be the cute kitten that appears in the pictures, or the fact that it includes three sizes, or the lovely lunar name, or most probably all of that together with the fact that the pattern looked really amazing.

Chris W Designs es una marca australiana de patrones pdf para todo tipo de bolsos. Detrás de la marca encontramos a Christine Welsh, una mujer de lo más divertida. Y si necesitáis prueba de ella, id a ver este video.

En su tienda online podéis encontrar patrones para bolsos de todos los estilos y niveles de dificultad. Yo pude elegir qué patrón quería coser para el Blog Tour y me lo proporcionaron gratis. La razón por la que elegí The Lunar Collection bien puede ser el gatito que sale en la foto, o el hecho de que incluye tres tamaños, o el bonito nombre, o probablemente todo eso junto, combinado con el hecho de que el patrón tenía una pinta estupenda.

So here you go my version of the Lunar Collection.
The pattern includes three different sizes, and they are called Full Moon, Half Moon and Quarter Moon. It is quite self explanatory which one refers to which size right? I needed a big bag for our travels, so I chose the Full Moon. Now I am ready for my next trip!

Y hoy os muestro pues mi versión de The Lunar Collection.
El patrón incluye tres tamaños que se llaman Full Moon, Half Moon y Quarter Moon. Todo nombres de lo más lunares. Yo elegí la luna llena, porque necesitaba una bolsa grande de viaje. ¡Ya estoy lista para mi próxima escapada!

This pattern is quite elaborate, but the effort is well worth it. The final result is just so great. It is a very roomy bag with two big drawstring pockets on the sides. In this size they are ideal for the shoes! It also has a flap pocket between the straps, that I converted into a zipper pocket. On the other side, you have the option to add a luggage sleeve, which is great to slip the suitcase handle through the bag, but I would hardly use it so I ommitted it.

Es un patrón algo laborioso de coser, que no difícil, y el esfuerzo bien merece la pena. El resultado final es fantástico y con todo lujo de detalles. Es una bolsa muy amplia con dos bolsillos grandes con cordón a los lados. En este tamaño, esos bolsillos son ideales para llevar los zapatos. También lleva un bolsillo con solapa entre las asas, pero yo lo convertí en un bolsillo con cremallera. En el otro lado, se puede añadir opcionalmente una pieza para pasar las asas telescópicas de las maletas por dentro y así llevarlo todo junto. Me parece muy práctico, pero yo personalmente no lo usaría mucho, así que no lo he añadido.

The fabrics that I used for the outside are cotton canvas and black linen from Ikea, aka the paradise for cheap fabrics with big bold and cool patterns. On the inside I used some rather christmasy quilting cotton that perfectly matches the zipper. As a stabilizer for the bag, I used some cheap foam that is usually used to make costumes.

Las telas exteriores son una loneta estampada de algodón y una de lino negra lisa, ambas de Ikea, el paraíso de las telas baratas con estampados grandes y molones. Dentro he usado unas telas de patchwork navideñas que combinan a la perfección con la cremallera. Para darle algo de cuerpo a la bolsa he usado foam para disfraces de Cal Joan, que es de lo más barato y tiene una función similar a otros material específicos para bolsos y mucho más caros.

Farfar Cardigan by Wardrobe by me

Farfar is the name of the new amazing pattern by Wardrobe by me. It means grandfather in Danish, but to me it means coolest cardigan ever. Christina Albeck did it again and has just released the perfect pattern to show some love to the men in our lifes. 

Farfar es el nombre del nuevo patrón de Wardrobe by me. En danés significa abuelo, pero para mí significa el cardigan más chulo del mundo. Christina Albeck ha vuelta a hacerlo y acaba de sacar el patrón perfecto para hacer felices a los hombres de nuestras vidas.

Let's be honest, keeping the husband happy, proud and excited about my hobby makes things much easier when it comes to convince him that I need to place yet another fabric order or that I cannot prepare dinner because I have some life or death sewing to do.

But the most important of all is that he loves to wear the things that I sew for him. That's why I did not doubt a second to jump into this pattern testing. Crazy as it may seem, he never had a cardigan before in the 19 years that we've been together, not even one store bought, so this would be a fun new style experiment. And the result has been great.

Pero por supuesto, lo más importante es que le encanta llevar las prendas que le coso, y por eso no dudé ni un segundo a la hora de apuntarme para probar este patrón. Aunque parezca imposible, nunca ha tenido un cardigan en los 19 años que llevamos juntos, ni siquiera uno comprado, así que ha sido la oportunidad perfecta para probar un nuevo estilo. Y le ha encantado.

Look at that fabric, isn't it beautiful? I did take some risk here ordering purple for him, but it turns out that he likes it very much. It is a poly viscose mix jersey.

¡Me encanta esa tela! El color fue algo arriesgado pero le ha gustado mucho. Es un punto de jersey de viscosa y poliéster.

The pattern has a classic and relaxed fit and includes the options of a simple placket, like I did here, or a shawl collar placket that also looks great (and I will show you another day). It also has patch pockets that could be optional. It is totally easy to sew, and I did only freak out a bit with the buttonholes... because my machine seems to have its own opinion about when it wants to make them right or not. Luckily everything went smoothly this time.

El patrón tiene un corte clásico y holgado e incluye dos opciones para el cuello, el simple que he hecho yo aquí y otro con solapa (que os voy a enseñar otro día). También lleva bolsillos sobrepuestos. Es muy fácil de coser y solo sufrí un poco con el momento ojal. Mi máquina es bipolar con los ojales, y puede hacerlos perfectos o fatal según el humor que tenga ese día. Por suerte la pillé en un buen día jeje.

Sizes go from 2XS to 3XL so it will surely work for every men. My man is quite slender, and I made size M at the body and S at the sleeves.

El patrón va de la talla 2XS a la 3XL, creo que eso cubre prácticamente todos los hombres de todas las medidas. Ribi es delgado, así que cosí la talla M en el cuerpo y la S de mangas.

And you know, this pattern could also work for women. At least one of the testers did an oversize version for herself and it looked totally amazing.

Y no descarto hacerme uno para mí. Una de las testers se hizo uno extragrande para ella y ha quedado espectacular.

Today I am here to show you my new make in very good company of Imilce from Manos Revoltosas.

Last week we both loved the skirt that Pandielleando made for herself, and so here we are today, shamelessly copying the idea. Don't miss Imilce's version here!

La semana pasada nos quedamos ambas prendadas de la falda que nos mostró Pandielleando, así que aquí estamos hoy con un auténtico "¡tu rollo me suena e imitarte es admirarte, Yolanda!". No os perdáis la versión de Imilce aquí.

I had already seen long ago this type of skirt made with an old pair of jeans upside down, and I was dying to have my own but for one reason or the other I never came to actually make it. Until now, and I couldn't be happier!

Hacía tiempo que había visto estas faldas hechas con unos vaqueros boca abajo y me moría de ganas de hacerme una, pero aquello que lo vas dejando por A o por B. Cuánto me alegro de tenerla por fin. Me parece super divertida y la voy a usar un montón.

I grabbed an old pair of ill-fitting jeans and started the surgery. 

Cogí unos vaqueros viejos que me quedaban fatal y empecé la transformación.

It is the easiert skirt to make. I took the jeans and cut it to the skirt length. Then unpicked the leg seams and sewed them front to front and back to back to obtain the skirt.

La falda es muy fácil de coser. Simplemente corté los vaqueros al largo de la falda y descosí las costuras de las piernas para volverlas a coser delante y detrás.

I used ribbing at the waist, cutting it quite wide so that I can wear it folded down.

La cintura la hice con puño, cortándolo bastante ancho para llevarlo doblado hacia abajo.

And I can tell you that this would also work the other way around. I did actually try the skirt on with the ribbing at the bottom and it does look good too! I will show you a pic another day.

¿Y si os digo que la falda del revés también queda bien del otro revés? jajaja... Me la probé en el otro sentido, con el puño abajo y también queda genial! Otro día os enseño foto.

Para las fotos de hoy he combinado la falda con esta sudadera que ya publiqué el pasado invierno aquí. Parece que ¿por fin? ha llegado el frío.

Now, what do you see different in today's pics? hehehe... yes, this is my first time with the camera remote shutter. It feels like I will need a lot of practice to get decent pictures. But the photographer is not always available, specially during the week, and this will be really useful. Today's pics were taken in a rush, as in "I just finished the skirt and must take pics before it gets dark so that I can post tomorrow!".

¿Qué veis diferente hoy? ¡Por fin tengo un disparador remoto! Que aunque tengo un fotógrafo muy dispuesto, el pobre no está siempre disponible, sobretodo entre semana. Me va a ser muy útil el aparatito, a ver si le pillo el truco y con algo de práctica consigo fotos decentes. Las fotos de hoy fueron sacadas rápido a última hora... Lo que tiene acabar la falda un día para publicarla al siguiente y en medio tener que hacer fotos antes de que oscurezca.
