Unisex PJ Pants

Hace muchas semanas que no enlazaba en MiMi, ¡pero por fin he conseguido publicar en miércoles!
Hoy os enseño el último tester que he hecho para WBM. Unos pantalones de pijama unisex de lo más cómodos.

Today I am here to show you my latest tester for WBM. A pair of super comfortable unisex PJ pants for me and my husband.

Es un patrón muy sencillo de una sola pieza, o sea que no llevan costura en los laterales. La cinturilla se hace simplemente añadiendo la goma y doblando la parte superior. Y el cordón se pasa por dos simples ojales. La verdad es que se cosen en un momento. Ya hubiese sido lo más de lo más si Ribi y yo usáramos la misma talla, porque me habría ahorrado cortar el patrón dos veces jejeje... por soñar con mis kilos de menos que no quede :-). Para que no nos confundamos, en los suyos le he cosido una etiqueta de Mr. Handmade en el interior.

It is a very easy one-piece pattern. It has no seams on the sides and the waist is just folded to encase the elastic. Por the drawstring, a couple of buttonholes work perfect. These are a super quick sew. It would have been even faster if Ribi and me used the same size. Then I wouldn't have needed to cut the pattern twice hehe... But well, I will always need a bigger size than him, and I better accept it lol. In order to know which is whose, I added a Mr. Handmade label on the inside of his pants.

La tela que he usado es una franela de algodón finita de la que tenía varios metros abandonados en el fondo del armario desde hace mucho tiempo, esperando el proyecto ideal. ¡Me parece perfecta para estos pantalones!

I used a cozy cotton flannel fabric that had been patiently waiting for a project for ages. Isn't is just perfect for these pants?

Y claro, si vamos conjuntados por abajo, no podía dejar de conjuntarnos por arriba también, así que cosí dos camisetas también de WBM. La mía es la Wardrobe Builder, y la de Ribi la Bram Raglan.
Las hice con una tela muy curiosa que compré en telas.es. La venden como "tela de algodón rugosa"... Las traducciones de esa página son tan "buenas" que casi la entiendo mejor en alemán :-). Es un punto de camiseta con un perchado bastante tupido por el reverso que la hace super calentita.

And well, we obviously needed matching tops for those matching pants, so I made a couple of long sleeve tees using WBM patterns as well. Mine is the Wardrobe Builder, and his the Bram Raglan. I used a brushed cotton jersey from telas.es. This online shop is available in different languages and I have to say that the Spanish translations are really funny (and hard to understand) sometimes!

Y nada, qué más os puedo contar. Que hacer fotos dentro de nuestra mini casa tiene su complicación. Que no las hicimos fuera porque el mister estaba enfermo y santa paciencia la que tuvo el pobre. Que les voy a tener que pedir unas paredes más anchas a los Reyes Magos, y también un objetivo con gran angular, claro.

And well, taking pictures inside our home is quite challenging. We did not take them outside because hubby was sick... huge patience he has! I am totally asking Santa for bigger walls and a wide angle lens this Xmas. Not sure he'll listen though lol.

Rebel again

Pues después de una Rebel, y de dos Rebels, viene la tercera Rebel. Cuando un patrón sienta perfecto, no te cansas de repetirlo. Esta vez con un toque diferente gracias a esta tela chulísima de Cal Joan.

After one Rebel, and after two Rebels, comes the third Rebel. When you love a pattern and your husband doesn't get tired of wearing it, you want to repeat it again and again. This time with a different look, thanks to this beautiful fabric.

A diferencia de la sudadera con capucha que os enseñé hace un par de días, aquí he hecho la versión sin capucha y sin bolsillo, que es la que ya incluía el patrón original antes de la actualización.

A couple days ago I showed you the hoodie version. This time I made it without hood or pocket, which is the original look already included in the pattern before the update.

¿Veis el fallo en esas rayas medio casadas? Qué rabia me dio ver que, por un par de cm, no me daba la tela para cortar las mangas en la misma dirección que el cuerpo. Lo veo cada vez que miro esas costuras raglán. Pero por lo menos pude casar el estampado más ancho. Lo que me llevó más tiempo fue sin duda decidir a qué altura quería la raya ancha en el pecho. ¡Es de esas tonterías que puede marcar toda la diferencia!

Are the missmatched lines too noticeable? I can't help but seeing it and it makes me nervous. I was a couple of cm short on fabric and wasn't able to cut the sleeves on the same direction as the body, so they are the other way around. Oh well... I least I was able to match the bigger stripe. And the truth is that choosing at which height on the chest to have that stripe was what took me longest of the whole process. Otherwise, this pattern is a really fast sew!

El patrón incluye una vista en la parte trasera, debajo del cuello, que queda genial... podría decir que lo omití expresamente, pero evidentemente se me olvidó coserla y no me di cuenta hasta que era demasiado tarde :-).

The pattern includes a facing for the neck on the back which looks great... I could say I ommitted it intentionally, but the truth is that I totally forgot to sew it :-).

Los puños me encantan, son de esos gorditos que ya vienen hechos. Los tenía hace tiempo y por fin les he dado uso. Y la tela es un punto de poliéster de Cal Joan precioso y super calentito. A Ribi le encanta y se sale de la típica sudadera para variar. Aunque todo tiene sus incovenientes... Creo que voy a empezar a usar mascarilla cuando cosa telas de estas sintéticas y que sueltan tanta pelusilla al cortar con la remalladora... Me ha pasado ya demasiadas veces que después de estar un rato cosiendo y respirando pelusillas me he sentido mareada durante un par de horas. No puede ser casualidad.

I love those cuffs. I used ready made cuff stripes, don't they look so cozy? The fabric is a sweater knit with fleece on the back, that I bought at Cal Joan. It is so beautiful and warm, Ribi loves it, and we achieved a different look than the classic sweatshirt. But... I have come to realize that everytime that I sew with fluffly polyester fabric on the overlocker, afterwards I feel sick for a couple of hours. Breathing all that polyester dust can't be healthy. Should I get a mask?

Rebel Raglan 2.0

Este va a ser el invierno de las sudaderas. Qué mejor para el frío que un jersey bien calentito. He cosido ya unas cuantas, y como estoy cosiendo más rápido de lo que publico, se me están acumulando las entradas jejeje. Vamos a intentar ponernos al día.

This will be the winter of sweatshirts and hoodies. Because there is nothing better to beat the cold. I've made already a few, but I am sewing faster than I post and they are piling up. Let's try to remedy it!

Ya conocéis, y si no deberíais :-), la sudadera Rebel Raglan de Wardrobe by Me. Hace un tiempo ya os enseñé aquí la primera que le cosí a Ribi. Pues bien, el patrón ha sido actualizado para incluir las opciones de capucha y bolsillo canguro.

You already know the Rebel Raglan sweatshirt from Wardrobe by Me. And if you don't, then you should :-). Some time ago I made the first one for Ribi, you can see it here. The pattern has now been updated to include a hood and kangaroo pocket option.

Como ya le había cosido una y sabía lo perfecta que le quedaba, no dudé en apuntarme como tester. ¡Éxito asegurado! Bueno, antes le pregunté a él, y me dijo que no, que no quería una, sino dos jaja. Y que fueran calentitas. Pues nada, aquí os enseño la primera. La otra, en un par de días.

I had already made one, and I knew how great the fit was on him, so I obviously jumped in to be part of the testing team. It was a sure win! Well, I did first ask him, and he said no, I don't want another one. I want another two! And they must be warm. So today I am showing you the first one. The other will come in a couple of days.

Hubieran sido el regalo perfecto para estas fiestas... Pero como había que hacer las fotos del tester, se echó a perder la sorpresa jeje.

These would have been so perfect as Xmas gifts. But we had to take the pictures, so the surprise was spoiled lol.

Ahora mirad esa capucha. Me tiene enamorada. Es la primera vez que hago una de este tipo y me ha encantado. La capucha es doble, pero sin costura en el borde. Se corta así doblada y ¡queda genial!

Now look at that hood. I love it! It is the first time that I sew this type of hood and it looks so amazing. It is a double hood, but instead of cutting the outer and inner pieces and sewing them together, it is cut on the fold, so the border is just folded, instead of having a seam there. I love the look of it!

También me he recreado lo mío con la recubridora jeje... ¡esa maquinita fue la mejor compra del siglo, después de la remalladora!

I did have fun with the coverlock as well. This machine is the best buy ever after my overlock!

La tela es una sudadera con velour super calentita. Creo que la compré en alguna tienda alemana. Le queda genial, pero me da que va a durar poco en ese estado. Es un atrapa pelos de los chungos. Aquí me van a entender las que tengan animales en casa jaja... Hay telas que el pelo se quita fácil lavando o con un rodillo. Y hay telas que los pelos se meten entre el tejido, se quedan fusionados y no hay manera de quitarlos. No es que todas las sudaderas con velour sean así, tengo otras prendas con este tipo de tela en perfecto estado, pero otras se quedan imponibles enseguida. Pues nada, cuando ya no la pueda llevar fuera, pues se quedará para estar por casa. Cómoda, chula y calentita seguirá siendo.

The fabric is a warm swearshirt with fleece inside. I bought it in some shop from Germany. It looks so great on him, but I am afraid that it won't last long. It is that type of fabric that catches our cats fur like crazy and it blends with the fabric and gets impossible to remove. But oh well. He will wear it outside, until it gets too much fur, then he will wear it at home. It will still be comfortable and warm.

Por la medida de pecho estaba entre la M y la L, pero como es más bien estrecho de hombros y prefiere un estilo más ajustado, opté por la M. Ahora pienso que tendría que haber echo la L, así después se la podía robar jijiji. La única modificación que tuve que hacer fue acortar las mangas 3 cm porque le quedaban un poco largas.

According to the size chart and chest measurement, he was between M and L. But he has rather narrow shoulders and prefers a slimmer fit, so I sized down to the M. Now I am thinking that I should have made the L instead, because then I would steal it for myself lol. The only adjustment that I had to make was shorten the sleeves 3 cm, because they were too long on him. Other than that, the fit is just perfect.

Y nada, él encantado. Y yo también. Es una sudadera básica de las que no pasan de moda. Y le va perfecta. Si ya tenéis el patrón antiguo que no incluía la capucha, os habrá llegado la actualización por email. Y si no lo tenéis aún, ¿a qué estáis esperando? El patrón estará de oferta durante unos días.

He loves it. And so do I. It is a basic sweatshirt, the kind that will be on trend forever. And the pattern is so well drafted, the fit is spot on. Así que si os falta algún regalo para chico (o chica) para estas Navidades, aquí tenéis una muy buena idea. Se cose rápido y fácil, y sienta fenomenal. Además incluye un amplio rango de tallas, desde la 2XS hasta la 3XL. Algunas testers se la han podido coser incluso a sus niños.

And if you still have to make some Xmas presents, this one is a great idea. It is easy and fast to sew and the fit is a sure bet. Furthermore, it includes a very wide size range, from 2XS to 3XL. Some testers were even able to make it for their kids in the smaller size.

Ready for Xmas II

Sigo en modo vestido. Hoy os enseño el segundo que me he cosido en esta colaboración con Wardrobe by Me. Se trata del Wanda Dress.

Still in dress mode. Today I am showing you here the second dress that I made in my latest collaboration with Wardrobe by Me. It is the Wanda Dress.

Es un vestido precioso. La parte superior es cruzada y la falda tiene bastante vuelo. Se puede hacer con o sin mangas y no es nada complicado de coser. Eso sí, hace falta mucha tela, pero vale totalmente la pena. De nuevo, he hecho la talla 38 ampliando a la 40 en caderas y lo he alargado unos cm.

It's a beautiful dress. It has a crossed body and wide skirt. It can be sewn with or without sleeves and it is not complicated at all to make. It requires quite a lot of yardage but it is so worth it. Again, I made size 38 graded to 40 at the hips and lenghtened a few cm.

Elegí una tela chulísima de The Sweet Mercerie que ya no está disponible porque me la llevé toda ya yo jejeje. Es un punto interlock muy cómodo, con cierto cuerpo. Tiene un color cobrizo precioso y con lurex para darle brillo. A la sombra se ve más mate, pero a pleno sol o bajo una lámpara se vuelve brilli total. Perfecto para una fiesta, ¿no?

A choose a super nice fabric from The Sweet Mercerie. Not available anymore because I took all that was left of it hehe... It is an interlock jersey, with quite some body and so comfortable, in a beautiful copper shade with lurex to make it shine. On the shadow it is not too obvious, but go under the sun or under a lamp and it goes all super shiny. So perfect for a party, don't you think?

Ahora voy a necesitar un plan digno de arreglarme así. Anda que no me hubiera ido bien para las cenas del mini crucero que hice el mes pasado. Sería ideal para celebrar el fin de año por todo lo alto. O para una boda, o para una cena romántica especial. Algo se me ocurrirá, porque el vestido me encanta y pienso llevarlo.

Now I need an occasion to wear it. It would have been so perfect for the fancy dinners on the mini cruise that I was last month. And it would be great for a fancy New Year's party, or a wedding, or a special romantic dinner. I will surely think of something, because I love the dress and I want to wear it!

De momento ya lo paseé por el Parc del Fòrum de Barcelona. ¡Ese sitio es muy chulo para hacer fotos! Y también para dar una vuelta sin fotos, claro. Por suerte no había mucha gente, y la que había estaba muy dispersa porque el lugar es grande. Siempre que vamos a la ciudad acabamos yendo a los mismos sitios que ya conocemos, ¡y será que no hay lugares por descubrir! Así que ahora nos hemos propuesto visitar sitios nuevos siempre que sea posible.

At least I already wore it once for the photoshoot. Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona is an amazing place to visit and take photos! Away from the center and away from the crowds. We had never been there before and boy, the city has so much to offer, it is such a shame that we always end up on the same known places. So now, everything we go there we will be trying to visit something new.

Esta es una de esas costuras que sabes que va a ser para ocasiones especiales y no vas a usar mucho, pero aún así disfruté un montón cosiéndolo, solo por el simple placer de hacerlo. Creo que es un patrón muy versátil y según la tela que uses cambia totalmente el estilo.

This is one of those makes that you know you won't wear much, because it is more for special occasions, but I think that for that reason I enjoyed the sewing even more. And the pattern is so versatile, the fabric choice is key and can change the style completely.

Ready for Xmas

Christmas is coming, you all! Today is December 1st and all I can think of is "Where did the year go?". Time really flies. But this year my wardrobe is more ready than ever to celebrate and party. Collaborating with Wardrobe by Me has this bonus of getting out of my comfort zone and discovering new styles that I actually love and I never knew before.

¡Christmas is coming! Y cuando lo digo no puedo evitar pensar en cierta serie famosa que no me gusta nada de nada jaja. Es uno de diciembre ya, ¿dónde fue a parar todo el año? El tiempo vuela, pero esta vez estoy más que preparada para las fiestas. Una de las cosas que más me gustan de colaborar con Wardrobe by Me es que de vez en cuando me hace salir de mi zona de confort y descubrir estilos que me encantan y no lo sabía.

Meet the Asta Dress by WBM. One of their most popular patterns, and one of the two dresses that I made for myself. Easy, beautiful, comfortable and flattering. I just love it!

Hoy os presento el Asta Dress de WBM. Es uno de sus patrones más populares, y uno de los dos vestidos que me he cosido para las fiestas. Es fácil, precioso, cómodo y sienta genial. ¡No se puede pedir más!

The fabric that I chose is a super soft and lightly brushed french terry by Atelier Brunette. It is navy with golden dots and it so reminds me of a winter starry night. It will be perfect to celebrate Xmas with my family, and also to wear it any other time. 

Lo he cosido con una tela preciosa y super suave de Atelier Brunette. Es una sudadera finita pero perchada, de color azul oscuro con puntos dorados. Me recuerda a un cielo estrellado de invierno y será perfecto para celebrar la Navidad en familia, o para ponerme cualquier otro día.

I don't wear dresses very often, but that might even change. I felt so well wearing it around Barcelona the day that we took the pictures. It is comfortable, and most importantly, it is warm. Haha... the other discovery that I made is that my shoes look great with tights and socks!

La verdad es que no suelo llevar muchos vestidos, pero este me gusta tanto que igual cambian las cosas. El día que hicimos las fotos, me pasé el día paseando por Barcelona super a gusto. Es muy cómodo y calentito. Además, descubrí que me gusta llevar medias con calcetines jejeje.

As for the Asta Dress pattern, it is easy and fast to sew. I followed the measurement chart and made size 38 graded to a 40 at the hips, with no other adjustments appart from lenghtening a few cm to let it hit below my knee. 

En cuanto al vestido Asta, es fácil y rápido de coser, no tiene mucha complicación. Seguí la tabla de medidas y cosí la talla 38, ampliando a la 40 en las caderas. A parte de alargarlo unos cm para que quedara por debajo de la rodilla, no he hecho ninguna otra modificación.

The pattern includes several sleeve lengths, and I of course went with the longest, because, well, it is cold. Hehehe... it was pretty cold during the pictures, but a bit of twirling and being silly surely helped to warm up.

El patrón incluye varias longitudes para las mangas, pero hace frío, así que yo me quedo con la más larga. La verdad es que me costó quitarme la chaqueta para las fotos, pero nada como dar vueltas y hacer un poco el tonto para entrar en calor.
