Paelias para el mister

Aquí estoy, escribiendo la primera entrada del año en febrero, ¡ya iba siendo hora!, y me estreno con una de Mr. Handmade porque por fin hicimos las fotos de la nueva sudadera favorita del mister. Este patrón mola mil.

Here I am, typing my first post of the year in February, it was about time! So, I am kicking off my 2019 blogging with a hoodie for hubby for Mr. Handmade. We finally took the pictures of his new favourite sweatshirt. And this pattern is really cool.

Es el Paelias de Kibadoo y tiene un diseño muy chulo. El delantero va partido para poder dar volumen extra en la parte del cuello.

It is Paelias by Kibadoo and has such great design features. The front is divided in two pieces to achieve the extra volume at the top.

La capucha es enorme y tiene su gracia, aunque queda un poco desbocado y se cuela el frío. Pero nada que no pueda solucionarse con un cuello negro super gustoso de lana merino que cosí hace años y está ya medio deshecho, pero que no se va a quitar hasta que le haga uno nuevo, y como las telas de lana merino cuestan lo que cuestan, pues me da a mi que va a tener que durar una buena temporadita más.

The hood is huge and so cool, but it's wide and lets the cold in. Not an issue when you have a warm and cozy merino wool neck warmer. I made it many years ago and it is falling into pieces, but he won't stop using it until he gets another one. And let's face it, merino is expensive. So dear, you'll have to use it a bit longer for now.

La tela es una sudadera perchada de Stoff & Stil muy agradable y calentita. Además, tenían el puño a juego exactamente del mismo color.

The fabric is a nice a warm brushed sweatshirt from Stoff & Stil. They also had the matching ribbing for the cuffs, which is so great!

Y como cordón para la capucha elegí una cinta ancha de algodón, de la misma tienda.

And for the string I chose a wide cotton ribbon from the same store.

Ya os he dicho que la capucha es enorme, ¿no? Pero bueno, ese cuello es muy original y me encanta. También hay la versión para mujer y para niños del patrón. En cuanto pueda me hago una para mí.

I already told you that the hood is huge, right? But still, that makes it so original and I love it. There is also the female and kid version of this pattern and I will be making one for myself as soon as I find the time.

Y no me enrollo más. A ver si consigo volver a publicar más a menudo.

Rebel Raglan 2.0

Este va a ser el invierno de las sudaderas. Qué mejor para el frío que un jersey bien calentito. He cosido ya unas cuantas, y como estoy cosiendo más rápido de lo que publico, se me están acumulando las entradas jejeje. Vamos a intentar ponernos al día.

This will be the winter of sweatshirts and hoodies. Because there is nothing better to beat the cold. I've made already a few, but I am sewing faster than I post and they are piling up. Let's try to remedy it!

Ya conocéis, y si no deberíais :-), la sudadera Rebel Raglan de Wardrobe by Me. Hace un tiempo ya os enseñé aquí la primera que le cosí a Ribi. Pues bien, el patrón ha sido actualizado para incluir las opciones de capucha y bolsillo canguro.

You already know the Rebel Raglan sweatshirt from Wardrobe by Me. And if you don't, then you should :-). Some time ago I made the first one for Ribi, you can see it here. The pattern has now been updated to include a hood and kangaroo pocket option.

Como ya le había cosido una y sabía lo perfecta que le quedaba, no dudé en apuntarme como tester. ¡Éxito asegurado! Bueno, antes le pregunté a él, y me dijo que no, que no quería una, sino dos jaja. Y que fueran calentitas. Pues nada, aquí os enseño la primera. La otra, en un par de días.

I had already made one, and I knew how great the fit was on him, so I obviously jumped in to be part of the testing team. It was a sure win! Well, I did first ask him, and he said no, I don't want another one. I want another two! And they must be warm. So today I am showing you the first one. The other will come in a couple of days.

Hubieran sido el regalo perfecto para estas fiestas... Pero como había que hacer las fotos del tester, se echó a perder la sorpresa jeje.

These would have been so perfect as Xmas gifts. But we had to take the pictures, so the surprise was spoiled lol.

Ahora mirad esa capucha. Me tiene enamorada. Es la primera vez que hago una de este tipo y me ha encantado. La capucha es doble, pero sin costura en el borde. Se corta así doblada y ¡queda genial!

Now look at that hood. I love it! It is the first time that I sew this type of hood and it looks so amazing. It is a double hood, but instead of cutting the outer and inner pieces and sewing them together, it is cut on the fold, so the border is just folded, instead of having a seam there. I love the look of it!

También me he recreado lo mío con la recubridora jeje... ¡esa maquinita fue la mejor compra del siglo, después de la remalladora!

I did have fun with the coverlock as well. This machine is the best buy ever after my overlock!

La tela es una sudadera con velour super calentita. Creo que la compré en alguna tienda alemana. Le queda genial, pero me da que va a durar poco en ese estado. Es un atrapa pelos de los chungos. Aquí me van a entender las que tengan animales en casa jaja... Hay telas que el pelo se quita fácil lavando o con un rodillo. Y hay telas que los pelos se meten entre el tejido, se quedan fusionados y no hay manera de quitarlos. No es que todas las sudaderas con velour sean así, tengo otras prendas con este tipo de tela en perfecto estado, pero otras se quedan imponibles enseguida. Pues nada, cuando ya no la pueda llevar fuera, pues se quedará para estar por casa. Cómoda, chula y calentita seguirá siendo.

The fabric is a warm swearshirt with fleece inside. I bought it in some shop from Germany. It looks so great on him, but I am afraid that it won't last long. It is that type of fabric that catches our cats fur like crazy and it blends with the fabric and gets impossible to remove. But oh well. He will wear it outside, until it gets too much fur, then he will wear it at home. It will still be comfortable and warm.

Por la medida de pecho estaba entre la M y la L, pero como es más bien estrecho de hombros y prefiere un estilo más ajustado, opté por la M. Ahora pienso que tendría que haber echo la L, así después se la podía robar jijiji. La única modificación que tuve que hacer fue acortar las mangas 3 cm porque le quedaban un poco largas.

According to the size chart and chest measurement, he was between M and L. But he has rather narrow shoulders and prefers a slimmer fit, so I sized down to the M. Now I am thinking that I should have made the L instead, because then I would steal it for myself lol. The only adjustment that I had to make was shorten the sleeves 3 cm, because they were too long on him. Other than that, the fit is just perfect.

Y nada, él encantado. Y yo también. Es una sudadera básica de las que no pasan de moda. Y le va perfecta. La Silla Mar y Montaña con Costurera de Retales

Hoy vengo a MiMi muy bien acompañada por Costurera de Retales, y es que juntas nos hemos cosido ¡una silla! Sí, sí, como lo oís jajaja. Chiste fácil cuando el patrón alemán se llama "La Silla". Ella una Silla para la montaña; y yo, una para la playa jaja. Sin hacerlo a posta, nos hemos ido a hacer las fotos en paisajes bien opuestos.

Today I am here in very good company. Costurera de Retales and I sewed ourselves a chair. Lol. Yes, a chair. The joke has to happen when the German pattern is called "La Silla", which means "the chair" in Spanish. She made a Silla for the mountain, and I made it for the beach. We did not make in purpose to take the pictures in such opposite landscape!

Pero primero de todo... ¡mi primer mini chapuzón del año! Qué ganas tenía de ir a la playa y meter los pies en el agua, y qué bien me ha ido la sudadera para no helarme, que con el viento que hacía... A esta primavera le cuesta arrancar, pero vamos, que en nada empezará a pegar el calor. O eso espero.

But first of all I need to share my first jumping in the water of the year. I was soooo looking forward to go to the beach and get into the water, even if just the feet. The hoodie was really great to keep me warm, because it was sunny, but so windy and freezing. This spring is resisting a bit, but I hope it will get warm soon.

Y mientras no suba la temperatura, anda que no voy a ir chula yo con mi Silla molona con capucha XXL. El patrón es de Schnittgeflüster, como el que os enseñé la semana pasada aquí. Trae varias opciones de largo y de cuellos y capuchas. No os perdáis la versión de Eva, que ha juntado cuello y capucha y queda fenomenal. En invierno me hago una así fijo.

I will walk around in the coolest hoodie ever during this crazy spring. I love my La Silla with its XXL hood. The pattern is by Schnittgeflüster, like my last make that I showed you last week here. It includes several options for lenghts and cowls/hood. Do not miss Eva's version, she combined the hood with the cowl and it looks so amazing. I will surely do a more winterly version like that next winter.

El patrón es muy entallado y lleva pinzas en el pecho y en la espalda. Yo he suavizado un poco la curva de la cintura y no he hecho las pinzas de la espalda, sino me quedaba demasiado estrecho.

The pattern has a very tight fit. I did smooth out the waist curve a bit and omitted the darts in the back, otherwise it would have been too tight.

Esta tela chula es una sudadera de verano que compré en The Sweet Mercerie. ¡Es tan agradable al tacto! El reto ha sido cortarla para que el estampado quedara estratégicamente colocado. Corté el delantero dos veces, porque el primero me quedó con un círculo blanco en el centro de la barriga y ¡como que no!

The fabric is a really nice french terry from The Sweet Mercerie. I could live in it forever! The challenge was to cut this big pattern wisely, and I actually had to cut the front twice, because the first one ended up with a big white circle on the middle of my belly. Really not flattering at all. But on the second try it went much better, and I really love this cool design.

Los bolsillos me encantan. Al hacerlo todo con la misma tela quedan bien disimulados y casi no se ven. Son grandes y super cómodos. Y las mangas son largas, como a mí me gustan en una sudadera jeje, aunque no descarto acortarlas un poco si veo que me molestan.

The pockets are great. Big and so comfy. I made all in the same fabric so they are well integrated and hardly noticeable. And the sleeves are long, but I love it in a hoodie. I can always shorten them a bit too.

En la capucha, he reutilizado un cordón de zapatos que antes estaba en la cintura de un pantalón que ya pasó a mejor vida. No resalta mucho, pero me gusta ese toque rosa de las puntas.

On the hood I reused a shoe cord that was previously on the waist of a pair of joggers that I just threw away. It doesn't stand out much in black, but I love the little touch of pink.

Y hasta aquí La Silla. Patrón chulo como todos lo de Schnittgeflüster. Pasaros ahora mismo a ver la de Costurera de Retales si no la habéis visto ya.

Lady Tasja

Hoy vengo a MiMi muy bien acompañada, nada más y nada menos que de la mano de Yolanda de Pandielleando. ¡No os perdáis su versión chulísima aquí! Hace unos días estuvimos hablando de compartir patrón, que ya hacía tiempo de la última vez, y nos decidimos por dos aprovechando las rebajas a 2 euros de Makerist. Este es el primero, el segundo lo dejamos para dentro de unas semanas.

Today I am showing you a new hoodie that I've made with Yolanda from Pandielleando. Don't miss her super cool version here! Makerist had 2 euro sales again and we used our chance to choose two patterns to sew together. The second one will follow in a few weeks.

Es el Lady Tasja de Mialuna, un patrón de sudadera con capucha o cuello cruzados, canesú, bolsillos y dos largos diferentes. Yo me decidí por la capucha, omití los bolsillos e hice el largo sudadera. Me hubiese gustado más largo, pero la tela no llegaba. No pasa nada, así me encanta también. Justo hace un par de semanas, Costurera de Retales nos enseñaba su versión como vestido que me encantó.

This is Lady Tasja by Mialuna, a hoodie pattern that includes a crossed hood or neck, yoke, pockets and two different lengths. I chose the hood with no pockets and the shorter length. Would have liked it longer, but didn't have enough fabric. No problem, I love it like this too. A few days ago, Costurera de Retales shared her version in dress length, and I liked it so much!

Y es que se trata de un reciclaje, o un recosiendo como diría Mi Rincón de Mariposas.
¿Alguien se acuerda de la Hazel que cosimos en 2016? Aquí la mía. Pues desde entonces he adelgazado y se me había quedado enorme hasta el punto que ya no me la podía poner. Pues nada, la reciclamos y nos cosemos algo nuevo.

For the main fabric, I recycled another hoodie that I had sewn back in 2016 and you can see here. Since then, I have lost some weight and I could not wear it anymore, but the fabric is really beautiful so I gave it try and managed to recycle it into something nice and new.

La tela rosa es una sudadera que tengo en el armario desde hace años. Me dolía la vista de seguir viéndola ahí, pero es que es mucho rosa para hacerme algo entero con ella, por eso no le acababa de encontrar nunca proyecto. Hasta que tuve la idea de aprovecharla para dar un toque de color pero sin pasarme de rosa. Me encanta como queda, así asomando por la capucha y los puños.

The pink sweatshirt fabric has been in my fabric stash for ages and it really hurt my eyes to still see it there after so long. It is way too pink to make an entire garment out of it, and that's why I never found the right project for it. Until I had the idea to use it to give a touch of color but without going overboard with the pink. That way, I used it to line the hood and on the cuffs. I love how it looks!

Para hacer los puños dividí el patrón en dos, haciendo la parte rosa algo más larga que la negra, así sobresale una vez doblado. Tengo que decir que los puños han quedado algo estrechos, porque como los he hecho de sudadera y no de tela de puño, tendría que haberlos cortado un poco más anchos. Pero bueno, me pasa la mano, así que los aprobamos.

For the cuffs, I divided the pattern piece in two and cut the pink one a bit longer than the black, so that once folded the pink sticks out. I did a mistake there though... The cuffs are meant for ribbing and I made them out of sweatshirt fabric, so they ended up a bit too narrow. I should have cut them wider. But well, my hand gets through, so it is a pass.

Una parte de las mangas en negro, y una costura en el centro de la espalda que no viene en el patrón. Lo que tiene coser una cosa aprovechando otra. Pero me alegro mucho de este reciclaje, porque esta tela me encanta, y así me la voy a volver a poner incluso más que antes. Es una sudadera con velour que compré en Cal Joan. Super calentita.

Because I was recycling another garment I had to make some puzzle to fit it all in, that's why I added a black part on the sleeves (which I actually like a lot) and why the back has a center seam that the pattern doesn't include. But I am really happy that I was able to reuse this fabric that I really love. It is a very warm and cozy sweatshirt fabric with some kind of fleece inside, that I bought back then in Cal Joan. 

Hoy han tocado fotos de interior en una íntima sesión solos el trípode y yo, con una cámara que solo enfoca cuando le da la gana. En fin, tres mil fotos después, alguna hemos podido aprovechar. Creo que toca llevarla a revisión... Intentamos abrirla nosotros para solucionar el problema de enfoque siguiendo un vídeo de youtube jaja... de perdidos al río, pensamos. Y algo mejoró, pero aún no va bien del todo. Comprar cámara nueva, ahora mismo va a ser que no. Así que... tendremos que hacer muchas fotos para tener unas cuantas entradas del blog cubiertas y llevarla a ver si nos la reparan. ¿Alguna sugerencia?

This time I had a very intimate photo session just the tripod and I, with a camera that only focuses well whenever it is in the mood. Anyway, after three thousand photos, some of me came out usable. I think it is time to send the camera to repair. We tried to open it ourselves following a youtube video lol... And it did get somewhat better, but it did not completely solve the problem. So I think that it will be time to send it to repair, because getting a new one is not an option at the moment. Any suggestions?

Sein NANUK II

A few weeks ago I showed you here the cool zipper hoodie that I made for Ribi with the Sein NANUK pattern by Meine Herzenswelt. So today I am here to show the second one that I made, although it actually was the first one.

Hace unas semanas os enseñé aquí la sudadera chula que le hice a Ribi con el patrón Sein NANUK de Meine Herzenswelt. Pues bien, os enseño la segunda, o más bien la primera que hice.

I was part of the tester team, and this was the first try on the pattern, a simple version with no zipper.

Como parte del equipo tester, esta fue la primera que hice, así simple sin cremallera ni historias, para probar el patrón.

Truth is that this has become one of his favorite sweatshirts. Sometimes less is more, and more simple means more wearable.

Y la verdad es que se ha convertido en una de sus sudaderas favoritas. A veces menos es más, y lo más sencillo es lo más ponible.

Here I made it with a hood and kangaroo pocket, whereas the other one was with high neck, zipper and pockets on the front side seams. It is just great when a pattern includes so many options.

Aquí hice capucha y bolsillo canguro, mientras que la otra era con cuello, cremallera y bolsillos en las costuras laterales delanteras. Es genial cuando los patrones llevan tantas opciones.

We took the pictures in the Fageda d'en Jordà, a beautiful and magical forest.

Las fotos en la Fageda d'en Jordà... Hacía siglos que no íbamos y es un lugar taaaan bonito.

Sewing for my husband is always a pleasure. This is the last piece of sewing for him that I had pending to show you, but I am sure that more will follow soon.

Me encanta coser para Ribi. Esta era la última costura suya que tenía pendiente de enseñaros, pero seguro que pronto caen más.

sein NANUK

My husband couldn't be happier when I told him that I was going to be in the tester team of a men's pattern. I am his official clothes maker, and new men's patterns don't happen that often as those for women. After seeing the women and kids version of this pattern, I knew it would be total success.

Ribi estuvo encantado cuando le dije que iba a participar en el equipo tester de un patrón para hombre. Los patrones para hombre escasean, y después de ver la versión para mujer y niños de esta sudadera, sabía que la de hombre sería un éxito total.

Let me introduce to you Sein NANUK, the newest pattern by Meine Herzenswelt.
It almost ended with a frozen husband... luckily I was able to bring him back to life after the photo shooting haha. 

Os presento Sein NANUK, el nuevo patrón de Meine Herzenswelt.
Casi terminamos con un hombre congelado... por suerte pude devolverlo a la vida después de la sesión de fotos haha.

So, on to the amazing pattern. It is a hoodie with multiple options: hood or high neck, with or without zipper, lined or unlined, with two different pockets, with side panels or without.

I made a lined jacket with high neck and pockets on the side panel seams.

Volviendo a este fantástico patrón. Es una sudadera con múltiples opciones: capucha o cuello alto, con o sin cremallera, con o sin forro, con o sin paneles laterales y con dos tipos de bolsillos.

Yo hice la versión chaqueta con cremallera totalmente forrada, con cuello alto y bolsillos en las costuras de los paneles laterales.

He wanted it very warm, putting the emphasis on "very" haha... so I used winter sweatshirt for the outside and fleece on the inside, even on the sleeves. The fabrics are of a very good quality. I bought them in Stoff Centrum, a German online shop with a very nice sortiment and reasonable prices.

I did lengthen the body 5 cm, because he wanted it long, and I just went the safe route. Once finished, I think that the 5 cm wouldn't have been necessary, so I will not lengthen when I make another one. My husband is 175 cm tall, and I made size M. He is normally an S, but I chose one size bigger to allow extra space for the fleece lining.

Ribi quería que abrigara mucho, con todo el énfasis en "mucho" jeje... Así pues, utilicé sudadera de invierno afelpada para el exterior, y polar en el interior, incluso en las mangas. Las telas son de buena calidad, las compré en Stoff Centrum, una tienda online alemana con un buen surtido y precios muy razonables.

La única modificación que hice fue alargar el cuerpo 5 cm. Él la quería larga, así que me quise asegurar. Una vez terminada, creo que los 5 cm de más no hacían falta para nada, así que no los voy a añadir la próxima vez. Ribi mide 175 cm, y hice la talla M. Normalmente lleva la S, pero cogí una talla más para dar espacio al forro de polar.

For the neck and side panels, I used a black stepper fabric remnant that I had laying around. It gives some detail to the jacket without changing the color or being too contrasted. He wanted it simple and serious.

En el cuello y los paneles laterales, utilicé una tela de jersey acolchada de la que tenía un resto por aquí. Me gusta como queda, añade algo de detalle sin cambiar el color o ser demasiado chillón. Es que Ribi quería algo serio...

The pattern also includes a chin protection piece, noone likes to feel a cold zipper on the skin right?
I also added an extra layer of fleece on the neck, that way it stands better, instead of falling down.
The zipper and cord are from Snaply, I was impressed by how precisely matched the color is! I had seen this type of cords in many blogs and finally could get my hands on some!

El patrón también incluye una protección para la barbilla, que a nadie le gusta ir rozando la cara con una cremallera fría en invierno. Para que el cuello se aguantara más tieso, le añadí una capa extra de polar, así tiene más cuerpo.
La cremallera y el cordón son de Snaply. Me quedé impresionada con la exactitud del color, combinan a la perfección. ¡Había visto estos cordones gruesos muchas veces y les tenía muchas ganas!

And once in Snaply, I couldn't resist to try this new type of cord ends. At least new to me, because I had never seen them before. It is a plastic tube that you cut to size with the scissors, put the cord inside, and then you apply heat to it with the hairdryer. The plastic shrinks until it gets the shape of the cord and holds it well in place. I hope it is going to last, because the look is really cool!

Y una vez en Snaply, no pude resistirme a estos nuevos topes de cordón, al menos nuevos para mí, porque no los había visto antes. Es un tubo de plástico que se corta a la medida con unas tijeras, se mete el cordón dentro y después se le da calor con el secador de pelo. El plástico encoge hasta envolver perfectamente toda la forma del cordón. Parece que va a ser resistente, espero que aguante, porque queda muy chulo.

The pattern includes the option of kangaroo pockets and these ones on the side panel seam. I used the second ones and they look really great. Inspired by all the German ladies who do this very often, I added a fleece triangle at each end. It is a nice little detail.

El patrón incluye la opción de bolsillos canguro o bolsillos en las costuras de los paneles laterales. Yo hice estos últimos y me encanta como quedan. Inspirada por las costureras alemanas, añadí un triángulo de polar en los extremos, le da un toque chulo ¿verdad?

The pattern has a great fit, and the instructions (in German) are very detailed and illustrated. It has been really easy to sew. Don't hesitate to grab yours, because it is totally worth it.
