Lovely Esther

Have you seen the newest pattern by Wardrobe by Me? I had the pleasure to be part of the tester team for the Esther Blouse and I love it. It is a very cute top with two different views, with gathers or pleats at the neckline and different sleeve and body lengths. It has a slit and button on the back of the neckline too.

¡Ni me creo que sea miércoles y esté escribiendo mi entrada para MiMi! Pero aquí estoy para enseñaros mi último tester para Wardrobe by Me. La Esther Blouse es un top precioso que me ha encantado coser. Tiene dos opciones, con fruncido o pliegues, y con dos largos distintos de mangas y cuerpo.

 I did the version with the gathers, 3/4 sleeves and the slightly cropped length in a lovely cotton double gauze from Atelier Brunette that fulfills all my dreams. Double gauze is so comfortable to wear and feels so nice against the skin. This is actually my first top in this type of fabric and it will certainly not be the last. I had the fabric on my stash for a while and this was the perfect pattern for it. Atelier Brunette never disappoints, love their amazing quality and designs.

Yo hice la versión más corta, con fruncido y mangas 3/4, en una doble gasa de algodón preciosa de Atelier Brunette. Esta tela me tiene enamorada, es super cómoda de llevar y de lo más agradable en contacto con la piel. Creo que es la primera blusa que me hago con doble gasa y desde luego que no va a ser la última. La compré hace tiempo aprovechando que estaba de oferta y este patrón le va perfecto.

The slit on the back of the neckline is a cute detail. And I finally got the chance to use some of the white buttons from my husband's grandma stash that she passed down to me and that I never use because I don't sew in white or light colors very often.

Ese corte con botón en el cuello de la espalda es un bonito detalle. Y por fin pude usar algunos del montón de botones blancos que heredé de la abuela de Ribi y que nunca uso porque no suelo coser mucho en blanco o colores claros.

The top was quite easy to sew following the step by step instructions. I always get nervous about cuffs, but then once I start I realize that I've already sewn a few before and while I still need to follow the instructions, everything goes smoothly.

El patrón ha sido muy fácil de seguir con las instrucciones detalladas. Siempre me ponen nerviosa los puños, pero una vez que me pongo a ello me doy cuenta que ya he hecho unos cuantos y que no es para tanto.

Buttonholes are a different story. My machine hates them. And then I hate my machine. Sometimes they come out well, other times it is a big mess. On this blouse, they didn't come out very well, but hey, noone but me will notice, and I don't even need to unbutton them, so it's ok and I'll just relax.

Los ojales son otra historia. Mi máquina es bipolar e igual te los hace perfectos que te hace un desastre total. Es una lotería, y esta vez no quedaron muy bien, pero no le voy a dar muchas vueltas, porque de lejos no se nota y ni siquiera voy a necesitar desabrocharlos, así que mejor me relajo porque me tocará aguantarlos hasta que pueda cambiarme de máquina, y eso no va a ser pronto.

This time the pictures were a bit rushed. Days are getting shorter and schedules complicated. But I must thank the testing. More often than not, having a deadline is the only reason that forces me to find the time for sewing. 

Esta vez las fotos fueron con prisas. Como se nota que los días se hacen cortos, y los horarios son a veces complicados. Aún así, debo dar gracias por estos testers, porque muchas veces tener una fecha límite es lo único que me hace encontrar el tiempo para coser.

Wadrobe Builder T-shirt

Went to the park at 8 am hoping for some nice light and no people. Well, there was some people training or walking, but it was too early for the kids, so the play area was all ours, yay! Now... if you intend to take pictures of different garments in an open public area, think about how to change clothes. Because that was tricky haha.

Fuimos al parque bien temprano buscando buena luz y poca gente. Aunque había deportistas entrenando y abuelos paseando, por suerte era aún muy pronto para los niños y tuvimos el parque infantil para nosotros solos. El único inconveniente es que no pensé en que me iba de cambiar de ropa tantas veces en un espacio público y abierto jaja... Eso tuvo su guasa.

But we somehow managed, and here I am today to show my new t-shirts, all from the same pattern that I was a tester for. It is the Wardrobe Builder T-shirt by Wardrobe by me. It is a very versatile fitted t-shirt style.

I did most of them with a deep scoop neckline, which is normally my style, but I tried this one with the boat neck and love it as well! The different lengths are also great depending on how you plan to wear it.

Hice la mayoría con el cuello más escotado, que es normalmente mi estilo, pero también quería probar el de tipo barco, y resulta que me encanta. Los distintos largos son perfectos para elegir el que más te conviene según con qué vayas a combinar la camiseta.

The fabric choice will make all the difference and change the look completely. In my pictures here you can see viscose, cotton lycra and bamboo knits. 

La tela marca toda la diferencia y según qué utilices se va a ver muy distinto. En estas fotos hay punto de viscosa, de algodón con spandex y de bambú.

I made a size 38 in the sleeves and shoulders grading up to a 42 in the hips. I think 40 would have been enough from the waist down, but I prefer it a bit looser. Since it is a fitted tee, it is important to pay attention to the size chart and grade accordingly.

Hice la talla 38 en hombros y mangas, ampliando hasta la 42 en caderas. Con una 40 hubiera bastado en la parte de abajo, pero lo quería un poco más holgado. Puesto que es una camiseta ajustada, es importante prestar atención al cuadro de medidas y combinar las tallas que hagan falta.

I don't need to tell you how much I like the pattern since I have made a bunch of them. The one that I paired with my Easy pants from the last post was also from this pattern.

No hace falta que os diga cómo me gusta, porque si no me gustara no me habría hecho tantas, ¿verdad? La camiseta que llevaba con los Easy pants en el último post también es con este patrón.
