Today I'll show you what might be the last cardigan for this fall. The weather is finally cooling down (could it please stay just like this forever) and this one is lightweight and won't be worn much more until spring. Still, I love it so much.

Hoy vengo a MiMi con otra chaquetilla, seguramente la última de este otoño, porque ya me he cosido unas cuantas, y porque ya toca coser cosas más calentitas que se cierren por delante para que no se cuele el frío jeje. Esta ya no creo que la vuelva a usar hasta la primavera, porque es finita. Pero me encanta.

The pattern is German, Gritta Blazerjacke by Schnittgeflüster. It is my first time sewing anything from this brand and I am very satisfied. The pattern is very well drafted and the instructions and illustrations are so clear that you could probably easily follow them without even understanding German. Lucky for me, I do understand the language, so that makes it even more enjoyable.

Es un patrón alemán, Gritta Blazerjacke de Schnittgeflüster. Es la primera vez que coso algo de esta marca y me ha gustado mucho. El patrón está muy bien hecho y las instrucciones e ilustraciones son tan detalladas que creo que se puede seguir bien incluso sin saber alemán. Disfruté mucho de esta costura.

I used some deliciously soft lightweight sweatshirt fabric that I bought during my holidays in France last spring. This fabric appears in an issue of La Maison Victor, can you recognise it? They used it in a T-shirt, and when I spotted it in a store I was like "want! want! want!". It was incredibly expensive but once you touch it there's no way back. I can't even describe how soft and dreamy it is. 

La tela es una sudadera finita ligeramente afelpada. La compré durante mis vacaciones en Francia la pasada primavera. ¿Os suena? Aparece en un número de La Maison Victor en una camiseta. Cuando la vi en la tienda me lancé de cabeza. El precio se salía mucho de mi zona de confort, pero en cuanto la toqué fui incapaz de dejarla ir. No hay forma de describir en palabras lo suave y agradable que es.

Here you can see the pattern of the fabric much better, and the pocket hidden in the seam.

Aquí veis mejor el estampado y el bolsillo escondido en la costura.

The cardigan has a narrow lapel that makes it really elegant.

El cardigan tiene una solapa estrecha que queda muy elegante.

This time we took the pictures in a very beautiful park in Girona. It is a big place and people were far away enough for me not to feel embarrassed... Until we spotted a couple of teenage girls doing their own photoshoot in all supermodel style and I was like "ok, I might be too old for this" lol. But well, we had fun, and I guess that you are never too old for that.

Esta vez tocó sesión de fotos en el Parc de la Devesa de Girona. Es un parque precioso y lo suficientemente grande para que la gente este lo suficientemente lejos para que no me de vergüenza jaja... Después vimos a un par de chicas haciendo su propia sesión de fotos en plan supermodelo total. Me entraba la risa de pensar que lo nuestro se veía igual desde fuera, como que igual estoy ya mayor para estas tonterías jaja... Pero mira, lo pasamos bien y eso es lo importante.

Pictures come out much better whenever you enjoy the photo shoot and feel confident, play silly and have fun. 

Las fotos salen mucho mejor cuando te lo pasas bien sacándolas, cuando estás desinhibida  y haciendo tonterías.

So yeah, that was my Gritta cardigan. In between all my random thoughts I forgot to tell you that I did not make any changes at all to the pattern and that I sewed a straight size 38.

En fin, aquí mi cardigan Gritta. Con tanto desvarío mental se me ha olvidado decir que no he hecho ninguna modificación al patrón y que he cosido la talla 38.

 I hope you like it. I am very happy with the result and looking forward to try other patterns by Schnittgeflüster.

Aurora Tunic Blouse by Wardrobe by Me

Today I am here to show you my Aurora blouse by Wardrobe by Me. This new pattern was just released this week and I totally love it's delicate, feminine look. It is very flattering and something you feel special in while wearing it. You know, because the girl here wears jersey tops most of the days... It was about time to get a dressier option in my closet.

Hoy os traigo mi blusa Aurora. Es el nuevo patrón de Wardrobe by Me que justo ha salido a la venta esta semana. ¿Y qué puedo decir? Pues que me encanta su aire delicado y femenino. Es un patrón muy favorecedor y llevarla me hace sentir especial. Supongo que será porque aquí una va siempre por la vida con camisetas y sudaderas... Ya era hora de añadir algo más elegante al armario.

I truly enjoyed being part of the tester group and I actually learnt quite a lot, because this type of garments with collars and ties and plackets falls a bit out of my comfort zone. The truth is that it was quite easy to sew. The very detailed and illustrated instructions are really helpful.

Pude formar parte del grupo de testers y ha sido una experiencia muy bonita. Además también he aprendido nuevas cosas, ya que los cuellos y lazos se salen un poco de mi zona de confort. Aún así, no es un patrón difícil y se cose sin problemas con las instrucciones en inglés tan detalladas.

The pattern includes many different options. I chose the blouse curved length with long sleeves and collar tie. The fabric is a soft viscose woven that I bought in Stocks Téxtiles, in Barcelona.

El patrón incluye varias opciones. Yo opté por la blusa con bajo curvado, manga larga y lazo. La tela es una viscosa muy suave de Stocks Téxtiles.

Here you can see the different looks that you can get with the pattern. As a dress or tunic, with short or long sleeves, with a stand-up collar instead of the tie. I am actually planning to make another blouse with the stand-up collar.

Aquí se ven las distintas opciones del patrón. Como vestido o túnica, manga larga o corta, con o sin lazo. Tengo pensado hacerme otra sin el lazo, quizás en negro liso, seguro que queda con un aire muy diferente.

Well, the photographer didn't warn me that the tie was looking wonky... But I still love the delicate look of it. The colors of the fabric feel so autummal. Not so the temperatures that we are still having. But hey, I will not complain about not feeling cold yet.

Ejem, el Sr. Fotógrafo no me avisó de que tenía el lazo torcido, pero me sigue encantando este look tan femenino. Y los colores del estampado me hacen sentir el otoño. Que se sienta de alguna manera, ¿no? Si no es por las temperaturas, pues que sea por la tela jaja. A ver, que tampoco me voy a quejar de que no haga frío aún.

The sleeve is ended with an elastic. I would maybe add 1 or 2 cm to the length next time. But I do have long arms and am obsessed with extra long sleeves, so no wonder.

La manga se termina con una goma elástica. Quizás le añadiría 1 o 2 cm de largo la próxima vez. Pero tengo brazos largos y una preocupante obsesión por las mangas extra largas, así que era de esperar.

The only change that I did was lengthen the body by a couple cm, because I preferred it a bit longer. The rest is the original pattern. It fits perfectly. And not only on me, but also on all the other testers. It has just the right proportions everywhere and it is very comfortable to wear.

El único cambio que hice al patrón fue añadirle un par de cm de largo al cuerpo. Por lo demás es el patrón original tal cual. Queda genial, y no lo digo solo por mí. Se puede ver también en las fotos de las demás testers que es super favorecedor. Tiene las proporciones adecuadas y es muy cómodo de llevar.

We had quite of the fun photo session... It is hard to keep eyes open facing the sunset. And I lost my sunglasses, so that wasn't an option lol... Hope I don't find them too, because I desperately want new ones.

Digamos que la sesión de fotos fue de lo más divertida, de esas de reír por no llorar... porque no es nada fácil abrir los ojos con ese sol del atardecer en toda la cara. Y he perdido mis gafas de sol, así que no era una opción. Y la verdad es que me alegro de haberlas perdido, porque hace tiempo que quería unas de nuevas jeje.

And it is hard to walk on the field with heels and a twisted ankle still unhealed. And it is even harder to accept that every time that I twist it, it is in the most stupid way. Twisting your ankle while standing still in the bathroom. I cannot explain it. But it happened.

Tampoco es nada fácil pasear por el campo con tacones y un tobillo torcido. Y menos fácil aún aceptar que siempre me lo tuerzo de la forma más estúpida. Porque torcerse el tobillo mientras estás quieta de pie en el cuarto de baño, pues es muy triste e inexplicable. Pero sucedió.

And the wind... that can play so in your favor or against you. The wind that made us take a thousand pictures and discard most of them. Well, let's just embrace it and have fun with it.

Y por último el viento... ese que puede jugar tan a favor o tan en contra. Ese por el que tuvimos que hacer mil fotos y borrar la mayoría. En fin, mejor aceptarlo y divertirse un rato.

Springfiniti

Aquí una nueva camiseta para el señor de la casa. Ya tocaba enlazar de nuevo en Mr. Handmade, que hacía días que no os enseñaba nada de lo que le he hecho últimamente. 

Today I'll show you the new hoodie that I made for the man. It was about time, haven't shown much of what I've made for him lately.

He utilizado un patrón alemán, Alex de DreieM's. Es una camiseta con manga raglán que incluye varias opciones: con o sin capucha, manga corta, manga larga, con o sin puño en bajo y mangas. Cosí la talla más pequeña y le va perfecta.

I used a German pattern, Alex from DreieM's. It is a raglan t-shirt with different options that include short or long sleeve, hood or not, etc. I made the smallest size and fits him perfectly.

La tela es un punto de camiseta de algodón con elastano de la nueva colección Springfiniti de Kurt Frowein, disponible a finales de enero de 2018. Son una marca alemana que fabrican sus propias telas para la venta al por mayor. Si vais a ver la colección, veréis que se compone de tres estampados distintos en tres gamas de colores. Para Ribi elegí las más masculinas, en tonos grises y amarillos.

The fabric is cotton spandex jersey from Kurt Frowein's new colection called Springfiniti. They are a German brand who produce their own fabrics for wholesale. Springfiniti will be available at the end of January 2018. The collection has three different patterns in three colorways. For Ribi I chose the more masculine tones in grey and yellow.

La tela tiene una calidad estupenda, con bastante elasticidad, y además cuenta con la certificación Ökotex. No sé qué pasa últimamente que en todas las sesiones de fotos de Ribi salen moscas de por medio jaja...

The fabric is of great quality, good stretch and it has Ökotex certification. I don't know why, but every time that I take pictures of him, the photobomber flies have to appear lol.

La camiseta es ligeramente más larga en la parte trasera y con el bajo redondeado.

The shirt is slighty longer on the back, and has a rounded hem.

El estampado de rayas grises y amarillas le encanta a Ribi, es lo suficientemente discreto para que no le pijamee. Pero quería darle un toque extra de color, así que forré la capucha con esta tela de tono mostaza con puntitos, que es de la misma colección.

Ribi loved this fabric, he liked the pattern with the grey and yellow stripes, which he finds discreet and neutral enough, and therefore it doesn't have the so called "pyjamas effect". I still wanted to add some color, so I lined the hood with this yellow fabric with dots, also from the same collection.

Sin duda va a haber más camisetas con este patrón, que le sienta fenomenal sin ninguna modificación.

No doubt I will sew this pattern again. It fits him really well with no changes.

Saunio Cardigan

Segunda entrada en miércoles, aún no me he acostumbrado al cambio y casi se me pasa escribir la entrada a tiempo, porque sigo con el chip de los jueves jeje... Hoy os muestro un nuevo cardigan, porque nunca se tienen suficientes, porque no pude evitar enamorarme de estos unicornios, y porque me alegran hasta el día más nublado.

Today's post is about another cardigan, because you never have enough of them, because I couldn't help but fall in love with those unicorns, and because they brighten up the day no matter how dark it is.

Es el Saunio Cardigan de Named Clothing. Mi primer patrón de esta marca y tengo que decir que me ha encantado. Las instrucciones son muy detalladas y con todos los pasos perfectamente ilustrados. No es una costura complicada, pero aún así se agradece que todo esté tan claro. Si tuviera que ponerle una pega, es que las piezas del patrón están solapadas en el pdf, por lo que toca pegar las hojas y después calcar. Pegar hojas me relaja, y calcar no me importa, pero las dos cosas a la vez es un poco pesado.

The pattern is the Saunio Cardigan by Named Clothing. It is my first pattern from this brand and I have to say that I totally loved it. The instructions are very detailed and all steps perfectly illustrated. It isn't a difficult make, but it is still nice to have everything so clearly explained. The only thing that I would complain about is that the pattern pieces overlap in the pdf, so you have to tape the pages and then trace the pattern. And I don't mind taping or tracing, but having to do both is a bit too much. 

La tela es una pasada. Soy fan total de los unicornios, pero en tonos coloridos o pastelosos, como se ven a menudo, no me atrevería a llevarlos. Estos en cambio son algo más serios y ponibles, sin dejar de ser divertidos :). Además tiene un tacto genial. Es un punto de jersey jacquard que compré aquí.

I so love this fabric. I am a total fan of unicorns, but I would not dare to wear them in the usual colorful or pastel tones. These are a bit more serious and wearable for me, while still fun :). It is a jacquard jersey with such a nice touch and feel. I bought it here.

El patrón tiene un corte amplio y muy moderno. El original lleva mangas 3/4, pero yo las he alargado para llevarlo en invierno.

The pattern has an oversize modern style. The original comes with 3/4 sleeves, but I lenghtened them to wear it in winter.

Me encanta cómo ha quedado, es muy cómodo.

I really love the result. It is so comfortable to wear!

Y no hay mucho más que decir. A continuación algunas fotos más. Las últimas que hicimos durante las vacaciones. Esta semana toca ponerse las pilas y sacar más fotos del millón de cosas que tengo para enseñaros. Vale... millón es exagerado pero... más de diez sí que son :-D

Jumper Dress - Burda Style 04/2017

Hoy publico esta entrada con sentimientos encontrados. No quería perderme el estreno de #MiMi, la nueva cita de los miércoles para enlazar nuestras costuras egoístas, pero la verdad es que no estoy de humor para hablar de algo tan insignificante como la ropa que me coso y las fotos chulas que hicimos durante las vacaciones. Sigo en auténtico shock después de los acontecimientos de este domingo en Catalunya y quiero expresar desde aquí mi más absoluto rechazo al uso de la violencia. Violencia gratuita y totalmente desproporcionada contra una población que actuó de forma totalmente pacífica en todo momento. Nunca pensé que eso pudiera llegar a suceder en un país democrático y europeo en pleno siglo XXI. 

Today's post comes with very mixed feelings. I didn't want to miss the launch of #MiMi, the new weekly linkparty to share all our selfish makes and find great inspiration. But the truth is that I am not in the mood to write about something as trivial as the clothes that I sew or the nice pictures we took during our vacation. I am in shock after the events from last Sunday in Catalonia and I want to express here my absolute rejection to the use of violence. Gratuitous and totally disproportionate violence towards a population who were acting in a totally peaceful manner. I never thought something like this would ever happen in a democratic and european country in 21st century.

En fin, os voy a contar brevemente que este peto me encanta. Es un patrón de la revista Burda Style 04/2017 y lo cosí con esta preciosa tela de la tienda de Ottobre Design, que elegí como premio tras ganar el concurso En marzo conjuntazo que organizaron desde el Blog de Fans de Ottobre. Hace unos días ya os enseñé unos shorts que me hice con la misma tela.

So, let me tell you briefly about this jumper dress that I really love. It is a pattern from Burda Style 04/2017 and I made it in this beautiful cotton fabric from Ottobre Design's shop. I chose it as my prize after winning a contest organized by Fans de Ottobre blog. A few days ago I already showed you the shorts that I made with the same fabric.

El patrón original lleva un bolsillo en medio del delantero, pero yo lo sustituí por una cremallera roja, inspirándome en un peto que vi un día en una tienda. Le da un toque de color y hace que sea super cómodo de poner y quitar, ya que abriendo la cremallera no es necesario deshacer los tirantes.

The original pattern has a pocket in the front but I opted to add a red zipper instead, inspired by a jumper dress that I had seen in a RTW shop. It is a nice pop of color and makes it super easy to put on and off just unzipping it.

El patrón es para estaturas pequeñas, por lo que lo alargué unos centímetros. Aún así ha quedado bastante corto, pero ya tenía la intención de llevarlo con leggings debajo, así que queda perfecto.

The pattern is for petite sizes, so I added a few cm to the lenght. It is still rather short, but perfect to wear with leggings underneath.

Esa cara de felicidad vacacionil al viento frente al mar dista mucho de la cara de indignación y resfriado de los fuertes que tengo ahora mismo. Quien pudiera escapar de la realidad.

Ah my happy face on a windy vacation day at the sea. So different from my current face today, which shows total indignation plus the awful cold that had me in bed for the last two days. Would be so nice to be able to scape from reality at moments like this.

Me encanta la espalda del peto. El tirante es una sola tira, lo que me parece muy original.

I love the back. The straps are made with only one long piece that passes through the back and that gives it a different touch.

Aquí más de cerca los detalles de la cremallera y los tirantes, que se sujetan con dos anillas y un nudo.

Here a closeup of the zipper and the straps, which are held into place with D-rings and a knot.

Para cerrar los laterales, opté por unos broches a presión metálicos y grandes, del tipo "Anorak" de Prym.

To close the sides I used Prym Anorak press fasteners. Really easy to insert and use.

Evidentemente no podía faltar la foto haciendo el tonto. Qué viento hizo ese día. Y qué bien lo pasamos.
