Rebel Raglan Sweater

Ribi tiene un nuevo jersey favorito, y hoy me paso por aquí y por #mrhandmade para enseñaroslo, aprovechando que es #maromartes.

Ribi has a new favorite sweater and today I am here to show it to you and link it to #mrhandmade and #maromartes.

Me moría de ganas de seguir experimentando con la recubridora, y este patrón ha sido perfecto para añadir unas costuras decorativas con el hilo Woolie Lock de Fujix. ¡Queda espectacular! Eso sí, cuidadín con la plancha, porque si te pasas de temperatura, el hilo se derrite. No me preguntéis cómo lo descubrí... porque no quiero ni recordar el momento pánico que pasé.

I so wanted to continue experimenting with my new coverstitch machine and this pattern was perfect to add the constrating coverstitching with Fujix Woolie Lock thread. Doesn't it look great? But there obsviously is a but... be careful with the iron on that thread. At high temperatures it will melt. I won't tell you how I discovered that, because that is really a scary story that I want to forget.

La tela nos encanta. Es un punto jacquard que compré en Stoff & Stil. Perfecta para una sudadera lisa pero con un toque especial.

Isn't this fabric so cool? Me and my husband love it. It is a knit jacquard that I bought from Stoff & Stil. Perfect for a plain sweater with a little special touch.

El patrón es el Rebel Raglan Sweater de Wardrobe by Me y le va clavadísimo. Simplemente perfecto. Los únicos cambios que hice fueron acortar las mangas un par de cm y reducir la longitud del puño del cuello porque el primero que hice de prueba quedó algo desbocado.

The pattern is the Rebel Raglan Sweater by Wardrobe by Me and could not fit him better. It is simply the perfect size and proportions. The only changes I did were to shorten the sleeves a couple of cm and also reduce the neckband, because on the first test that I did it was too big.

Empiezan a acortarse los días y con ello las horas disponibles para sacar fotos... Pero lo conseguimos, en el último momento, cuando ya se ponía el sol. La fotógrafa se puso un poco de los nervios, no me aclaraba con la cámara y no me gustaba ninguna foto. Pobrecito mío. Como sé que vas a leer mi entrada: gracias por tu infinita paciencia y por no tirarme puente abajo, amor mío. Te voy a hacer otro jersey para compensar, ¿vale?... Pero claro... después tocará hacer fotos otra vez jejeje.

Days start to shorten and we have less hours availabe for photos... But we managed, last minute, at the sunset. The photographer me was on her nerves... the camera did not want to cooperate and I did not like any photos. My poor dear husband. I know you will read this, so: thankyou for your neverending patience and for not pushing me off the bridge. I love you and will make you another sweater to compensate, ok? But then we will need more photos lol.

Bellavista Top by Itch to Stitch

Después de unas semanas de parón debido a las fiestas, el trabajo y la gripe, hoy estoy de vuelta con un patrón chulísimo, el nuevo Bellavista Top de Itch to Stitch.

After a few weeks without posting because of the holidays, the work and the flu, today I am back with an amazing pattern, the new Bellavista Top by Itch to Stitch.

Cuando salió el tester call no lo dudé ni un segundo, porque me encantan los cuellos enormes. Y no podría estar más contenta con el resultado. El patrón trae este cuello y otro normal, y dos largadas de mangas: largas y 3/4. Las 3/4 son un poco acampanadas y muy monas, pero estamos en invierno, así que yo opté por cuello grande y mangas largas.

I did not doubt for even a second when I saw this tester call, because I love big cowl necks. And I couldn't be happier with the result. The pattern has several options: big cowl or scoop neck, and long or 3/4 sleeves. The 3/4 sleeves are really sweet with a beautiful bell shape at the bottom, but it is winter and cold, so I went for the warmest options: long sleeves and cowl neck.

Elegí una tela de punto de lana bastante gruesa. Le da mucho cuerpo al jersey y hace que se me separe del cuerpo en la parte de abajo. ¡La verdad es que me gusta mucho! Con una tela más fina tendría más caída y también quedaría bien. Por ejemplo, como el que se hizo la Doctora Botones aquí.

I chose a heavy weight wool sweater knit. It is quite thick and has a lot of body, so the sweater separates from my body at the bottom, which I actually like a lot! With a lighter weight fabric though, the results are also really nice, like this one by Doctora Botones.

El delantero lleva una panel central, ideal para combinar telas, o para darle un toque de gracia aunque uses la misma. Cosí la talla 6, que es la que me tocaba según mis medidas, y la única modificación fue alargar el cuerpo 3 cm.

The pattern has a central panel on the front, which is ideal to combine different fabrics, or also adds a little detail even if you make it all in the same fabric. I made size 6, according to measurement chart, and the fit is perfect. The only change that I did was lenghten the body 3 cm.

Es una costura rápida y las instrucciones en inglés son muy claras y detalladas, como todos los patrones de Itch to Stitch.

It is a quick sew and the instructions are really clear and well explained, as always with Itch to Stitch.

Sin duda, lo que me tiene más enamorada es ese cuello enorme y calentito. Y esa tela es tan agradable. La única pega es que suelta mucho pelo. Pero mucho mucho, una cosa exagerada. Espero que se solucione con algunos lavados.

Without a doubt, what I love the most is that big cozy chunky cowl neck. And the fabric is so warm and soft to the touch. Dreamy. But there is a but... It sheds a lot of fuzz. In a really crazy way. I hope that will get solved after a few washes.

SHO!MaxiRock

I had wanted to visit La Fageda d'en Jordà natural reserve for a long time. The last time that we walked into this magical beech forest was many many years ago. And then a short trip was planned and I immediately envisioned the photo shoot. Then life happened and I wasn't feeling very well that day, and my face looks awful on all the pictures, but oh well, just focus on the scenery, ok? And on my new clothes, of course! :)

Hacía mucho tiempo que quería volver a La Fageda d'en Jordà. Habían pasado ya demasiados años desde la última vez que nos adentramos en este bosque mágico. Y justo después de planificar una mini escapada, pude imaginar claramente la sesión de fotos que haríamos. Pero siempre pasan cosas, y ese día resultó que no me encontraba muy bien, así que mi cara es un poco de circunstancias en todas las fotos. Pero bueno, fijaros en el paisaje y en mi ropa ¿vale? :)

Let me introduce to you the newest pattern by Einfach SHO! that has been released today. The SHO!MaxiRock, a maxi skirt designed for knit fabrics like jersey or even sweat, with a gathered front, a plain or gathered back, elastic waistband, decorative ties and of course, pockets. 

The PDF pattern is available to print in A4 or A0, comes in sizes 32 - 54 and includes very detailed and illustrated instructions. You can see all the results from the pattern testing here.

Os presento el nuevo patrón de Einfach SHO! que sale a la venta justo hoy. La SHO!MaxiRock, una maxi falda diseñada para telas de punto, finas con caída o incluso más gruesas como sudadera. Lleva un delantero fruncido, trasero con o sin fruncido, cinturilla elástica, un lazo decorativo y, por supuesto, bolsillos.

El patrón PDF incluye las tallas 32-54. Se puede imprimir en A4 o A0 y viene con instrucciones detalladas y muy bien ilustradas. Aquí podéis ver fotos de todas las testers.

I made mine out of ponte roma. It is stretchy and so comfortable. It obviously requires quite some yardage, but it is also really easy to sew. I made size 40.

Para mi falda usé un punto roma con bastante elasticidad y caída. Evidentemente se requiere bastante tela, pero por otro lado es muy fácil de coser. Yo hice la talla 40.

Now I must confess that I have a very strange relationship with long skirts. I love them, but I don't wear them in public lol. The truth is that I would feel a bit selfconscious walking on the street like that. Not because of the skirt, but because of my own stupidity. But anyways, the thing is that I do love maxi skirts, so I made it, and I will wear it at home. And since I spend the biggest part of the day at home, it will get a lot of wear. Now that it is getting colder, I plan to wear it with leggings or pants underneath and it will be like walking around wrapped in a blanket, but in a totally cool and fashionable way.

Tengo que confesar que mi relación con las faldas largas no es muy convencional. Por un lado me encantan, pero por el otro, no las llevo en público jaja... Lo cierto es que me daría vergüenza salir así a pasear por la calle. Y no es por la falda, que es chulísima, sino por mi propia tontería mental. Pero bueno, el hecho es que me encantan las maxi faldas, así que me la he cosido y la voy a llevar por casa, lo cual significa que va a tener mucho uso, porque en casa es donde paso casi todo el día. Y ahora que ha llegado el frío, pienso ponerme unos pantalones o leggings debajo y será como andar por aquí envuelta en una manta, pero de forma mucho más fashion y estilosa jaja.

I wish this place was at a walking distance from my home. I would just go there every single day for a peaceful walk. 

Ojalá este sitio estuviera aquí al lado para ir a dar un largo paseo todos los días.

Now let's move to the upper part of my outfit. Did you recognise the pattern? There you go my Toaster Sweater #1 by Sew House Seven, out of toasty thick winter sweat. I bought the pattern some time ago and it finally arrived its moment. I have to say that I really love it and will make another one for sure!

Y ahora pasemos a la parte superior. ¿Reconocéis el patrón? Es el Toaster Sweater #1 de Sew House Seven. Compré el patrón hace tiempo y finalmente le llegó su momento. Lo he hecho de sudadera de invierno muy calentita y me encanta. Este patrón lo repito seguro.

And so, by the magic of the flying leaves, I got a new and beautiful home outfit that is comfortable, warm and cat friendly. As much as I like dark colors, when you live with three cats you learn to match your clothes to their fur, otherwise you will look like a big mess after every cat on the lap session lol.

Y así, por la magia de las hojas voladoras, tengo nuevo conjunto chulo para estar por casa que cumple todos los requisitos: cómodo, calentito y gatiapto. Por mucho que me guste vestir con colores más oscuros, cuando vives con tres gatos que hacen turnos rotativos para tener tu regazo siempre ocupado, acabas aprendiendo a combinar la ropa con el color de su pelo, así que se disimulen un poco, ¿no? jejeje.
