Diagonal Knit Top Vanilla

Después de unas semanas en silencio, hoy vuelvo a MiMi para enseñaros una camiseta que me cosí hace ya meses pero aún no había publicado. Se trata del Diagonal Knit Top Vanilla de Waffle Patterns, con una tela que me regalaron hace un tiempo de Lillestoff.

After a few weeks of silence, today I am back to show you my Diagonal Knit Top Vanilla from Waffle Patterns, that I made a few months ago with a fabric that was a gift from Lillestoff.

La tela es un punto muy fino de algodón con algo de lana. Las rayas eran verticales y no las acababa de ver en recto, por lo que le estuve dando vueltas hasta que di con este patrón. con el que quedan un poco más en diagonal.

Fabric is a wool cotton jersey. It had vertical stripes and it took a bit to decide on a pattern that allowed me to play with those. I finally chose this one, where the stripes end up diagonally.

El Diagonal Knit Top es un patrón holgado y que se ajusta en las caderas. Tiene un corte muy original. Es el primer patrón de Waffle Patterns que pruebo y ¡me ha gustado mucho!

The Diagonal Knit Top is a loose pattern and fitted at the hips, it has such an interesting shape. This is the first pattern by Waffle Patterns that I've tried and I really liked it.

Por su forma, un lado tiene más tela, que le da un aire asimétrico muy chulo.

One side has more fabric and looks really great when it is draped on one side.

SHO!erts

Llega la temporada de las camisetas. O parecía que llegaba y después se fue... ¡¿Por queeeeeeé?! En fin, un día de estos llegará el calor para quedarse, eso espero, y toca prepararse. Y qué mejor manera que probando patrones nuevos.

It is t-shirt time! Or it should be... The weather has been crazy lately, but I hope that the heat will arrive soon to stay. And the best way to get ready for it is trying a couple of new patterns.

Son dos de los patrones de camiseta para hombre y mujer de Einfach SHO!. Aunque ya llevan disponibles un tiempo, ambos eran nuevos para mi.

The men and women t-shirt patterns by Einfach SHO! are new to me, although they were released some time ago.

A Ribi le ha encantado la suya, y van a seguir unas cuantas más, porque le queda perfecta! Es la Casual Men SHO!ert.

La tela de ambas camisetas es un punto de jersey de lino de The Sweet Mercerie. Tiene un tacto chulísimo y es finita y ligera sin ser transparente. Compré dos metros de cada color, así que dará para algunas camisetas más!

The fabric of both t-shirts is linen jersey from The Sweet Mercerie. It is so beautiful, with a really nice touch and feel, and it is lightweight without being see-through, just perfect for summer. I bought two meters of each color, so I will still be able to make a couple more shirts with it.

Mi camiseta es la Lady SHO!ert. Es un patrón entallado, pero yo la prefería más suelta, así que la amplié un par de tallas de cintura para abajo. Me encanta el cuello de pico, tiene las proporciones ideales.

My tee is Lady SHO!ert. It has a tight fit, but I preferred it looser, so I merge to a couple of sizes bigger at the hips. I do love that V-neck line, it really has the perfect proportions and shape!

Me atreví con la aguja doble para los dobladillos y no ha quedado muy bien.... aunque también puedo decir que el efecto túnel ese que hace es a propósito jejeje. Qué ganas de recubridora tengo.

Twin needle and I are not best friends... I used it for the hems and got that tunnel effect... But oh well, I can always say that it was made on purpose lol. I am dreaming of the day I will get a coverlock machine!

Jensen number II

Hoy no llego a MiMi, ¡pero sí al Mr. Handmade!

Esta es la primera camisa que hice para Ribi con el patrón Jensen de Wardrobe by Me.

Today I am here to show you the first shirt that I made for Ribi with the Jensen Shirt pattern by Wardrobe by Me.

Él está encantadísimo, y yo aun más. Hacer de tester de estos dos patrones de camisa para hombre y mujer me ha hecho ponerme de una vez por todas y quitarme el miedo a las camisas. Podéis ver las otras que hice en mi post de la semana pasada.

My husband is so happy that I finally made a shirt for him. Well, two actually. Testing these new shirt patterns made me lose the fear for shirts! You can see the other two that I made on my post from last week.

¿Veis esas arrugas que le hace en el pecho? Se las hace la mayoría de la ropa, sea cosida o comprada... Pues bien, pregunté en el grupo y descubrí que eso es porque tiene los hombros muy caídos, así que pude modificarlo para inclinar más la línea de los hombros, y la segunda que le hice le va perfecta.

In the tester group I found out that he has very sloped shoulders and that's why he gets those wrinkles on the chest on all his clothes. Now I know how to modify the pattern to fit his shoulders and the next one that I did fits perfect!

¡Me he estrenado con las camisas! Y ya era hora. Era de esas cosas que dan miedito cuando no las has hecho nunca, pero todo es ponerse. Hace unas semanas hubo el #coseconmigodoble y ganas tenía, pero no me dio la vida. Cuando Wardrobe by Me anunció el tester me lancé de cabeza. Era la oportunidad de comprometerme de una vez por todas a coser la camisa sin riesgo de dejarla a medio hacer.

I made my first shirts! I must confess that sewing a shirt sounded pretty scary, but it was about time to try, and when Wardrobe by Me announced the testing I jumped all in. It was the perfect opportunity to finally do it and in the best company ever. You do learn a lot in that nice group of testers!

Y vamos que si la he cosido. En realidad he cosido tres. Dos para Ribi y una para mí. No podría estar más encantada. Ambos patrones son perfectos, y las instrucciones tan claras que algo que yo pensaba que iba a ser super complicado ha resultado no serlo en absoluto.

And I did it! I actually did three of them. One for me and two for my husband. I am so happy and so in love with those patterns. Also, the instructions are so clear that what I thought would be nightmare ended up not being that difficult at all.

¿Lo mejor de todo? Podernos hacer fotos juntos jejeje. Os presento a Anna y a Jensen. Son los nombres de los patrones, no los nuestros jeje.

Best of all, we got to take pictures together. Let me introduce Anna and Jensen to you! These are the pattern names, not our names hehe.

Ambos son patrones de camisa clásicos con versiones de manga larga y corta, bolsillos opcionales, con o sin pliegue en la espalda. Anna, además, incluye un cuello redondeado. Aquí podéis ver todas las versiones que hemos cosido las testers.

Both patterns are a perfect classic fit and include options for long and short sleeve, with or without back pleat, and optional front pockets. The woman shirt also has the option of a rounded collar. Here you can see all the testers versions of the shirts.

La mía fue la primera que hice, en una tela de lino muy agradable. Elegí el pliegue en la espalda y le puse dos bolsillos.

Mine was the first one that I did, in a very nice linen fabric. I chose to include the back pleast and two front pockets.

Y después vino la de Ribi, con esa tela de algodón que pedía a gritos manga corta, y un casamiento en toda regla de las palmeras en el delantero.

And then came the shirt for my husband, in a cotton fabric that was really asking for short sleeve and some serious palm tree matching on the front.

Los botones de ambas camisas son reciclados de camisas viejas.

Buttons for both shirts are recycled from old shirts.

Me encanta como queda ese pliegue en la espalda con la tela de lino.

I love that back pleat in the linen fabric.

Tomamos fotos dos días distintos, y en las fotos que no son de playa también me he hecho los pantalones. Es el patrón Haute Skinny Pants de Wardrobe by Me.

We took my pictures on two different days. The ones that are not on the beach, I am also wearing WBM pants! It is the Haute Skinny Pants pattern. 

La otra camisa de Ribi os la enseño otro día, que sino el post sería interminable.

La Silla Mar y Montaña con Costurera de Retales

Hoy vengo a MiMi muy bien acompañada por Costurera de Retales, y es que juntas nos hemos cosido ¡una silla! Sí, sí, como lo oís jajaja. Chiste fácil cuando el patrón alemán se llama "La Silla". Ella una Silla para la montaña; y yo, una para la playa jaja. Sin hacerlo a posta, nos hemos ido a hacer las fotos en paisajes bien opuestos.

Today I am here in very good company. Costurera de Retales and I sewed ourselves a chair. Lol. Yes, a chair. The joke has to happen when the German pattern is called "La Silla", which means "the chair" in Spanish. She made a Silla for the mountain, and I made it for the beach. We did not make in purpose to take the pictures in such opposite landscape!

Pero primero de todo... ¡mi primer mini chapuzón del año! Qué ganas tenía de ir a la playa y meter los pies en el agua, y qué bien me ha ido la sudadera para no helarme, que con el viento que hacía... A esta primavera le cuesta arrancar, pero vamos, que en nada empezará a pegar el calor. O eso espero.

But first of all I need to share my first jumping in the water of the year. I was soooo looking forward to go to the beach and get into the water, even if just the feet. The hoodie was really great to keep me warm, because it was sunny, but so windy and freezing. This spring is resisting a bit, but I hope it will get warm soon.

Y mientras no suba la temperatura, anda que no voy a ir chula yo con mi Silla molona con capucha XXL. El patrón es de Schnittgeflüster, como el que os enseñé la semana pasada aquí. Trae varias opciones de largo y de cuellos y capuchas. No os perdáis la versión de Eva, que ha juntado cuello y capucha y queda fenomenal. En invierno me hago una así fijo.

I will walk around in the coolest hoodie ever during this crazy spring. I love my La Silla with its XXL hood. The pattern is by Schnittgeflüster, like my last make that I showed you last week here. It includes several options for lenghts and cowls/hood. Do not miss Eva's version, she combined the hood with the cowl and it looks so amazing. I will surely do a more winterly version like that next winter.

El patrón es muy entallado y lleva pinzas en el pecho y en la espalda. Yo he suavizado un poco la curva de la cintura y no he hecho las pinzas de la espalda, sino me quedaba demasiado estrecho.

The pattern has a very tight fit. I did smooth out the waist curve a bit and omitted the darts in the back, otherwise it would have been too tight.

Esta tela chula es una sudadera de verano que compré en The Sweet Mercerie. ¡Es tan agradable al tacto! El reto ha sido cortarla para que el estampado quedara estratégicamente colocado. Corté el delantero dos veces, porque el primero me quedó con un círculo blanco en el centro de la barriga y ¡como que no!

The fabric is a really nice french terry from The Sweet Mercerie. I could live in it forever! The challenge was to cut this big pattern wisely, and I actually had to cut the front twice, because the first one ended up with a big white circle on the middle of my belly. Really not flattering at all. But on the second try it went much better, and I really love this cool design.

Los bolsillos me encantan. Al hacerlo todo con la misma tela quedan bien disimulados y casi no se ven. Son grandes y super cómodos. Y las mangas son largas, como a mí me gustan en una sudadera jeje, aunque no descarto acortarlas un poco si veo que me molestan.

The pockets are great. Big and so comfy. I made all in the same fabric so they are well integrated and hardly noticeable. And the sleeves are long, but I love it in a hoodie. I can always shorten them a bit too.

En la capucha, he reutilizado un cordón de zapatos que antes estaba en la cintura de un pantalón que ya pasó a mejor vida. No resalta mucho, pero me gusta ese toque rosa de las puntas.

On the hood I reused a shoe cord that was previously on the waist of a pair of joggers that I just threw away. It doesn't stand out much in black, but I love the little touch of pink.

Y hasta aquí La Silla. Patrón chulo como todos lo de Schnittgeflüster. Pasaros ahora mismo a ver la de Costurera de Retales si no la habéis visto ya.

Aletheia

Un día pretendes ir a la playa pero los planes se tuercen y terminas en la montaña. Por suerte, Ribi y yo lo pasamos bien en cualquier sitio. Mura está muy cerca de casa, pero es un pueblo precioso, una visita totalmente recomendable. Se pueden hacer muchas excursiones a pie por los alrededores, y en Cal Carter se come genial. No es por hacer propaganda, pero es que simplemente nos encanta.

Sometimes you plan to go to the beach but end up on the mountain. Luckily that Ribi and I enjoy ourselves anywhere. Mura is a beautiful little village not far away from home. It is totally worth a visit to get lost in its ancient narrow streets, go on the different walking routes that start there, or just enjoy a delicious meal at Cal Carter. Not that I am advertising the place. We just love it.

Esta vez lo recorrimos de arriba a abajo, y nos metimos por todas sus callejuelas, descubrimos rincones preciosos que no habíamos visto antes. Pero claro, en las fotos solo salgo yo, conmigo misma y con mi nuevo jersey jaja.

This time we walked around the entire village and discovered beautiful places that we had not seen before. But of course, on the pictures you will only see me, myself, and my new sweatshirt lol.

Es el patrón Aletheia de Schnittgeflüster. Me enamoré de él en cuanto lo vi. Incluye muchas opciones con las que puedes acabar con sudaderas totalmente diferentes, pero a mí me llamaron la atención estas mangas abullonadas y tenía que probarlas sí o sí.

This is the Aletheia pattern by the German pattern designer Schnittgeflüster. I just loved this pattern when I saw it and had to make it mine. It includes so many options that you can achieve completely different looks with it, but I just needed to try these wide sleeves, those were the reason why I bought the pattern.

Me gusta el resultado, aunque quizás hubiera quedado mejor con una tela con más cuerpo. Esta es una tela con viscosa y bastante caída que compré en la tienda holandesa Megastoffen.

I love the result, although maybe it would have been nicer with a fabric with less drape. Anyway, I am very happy with it. The fabric is from a dutch shop: Megastoffen.

Opté por la versión corta, como es así anchote, queda bien con una camiseta ajustada debajo.

I chose the cropped length. It is a bit oversize and looks great with a fitted shirt underneath.

Me sentí un poco rara llevando esas mangas tan anchas, pero será la falta de costumbre porque, en realidad, viendo las fotos me encanta como queda.

It felt strange to wear this huge sleeves. But that must be just because it is new to me. Other than that, I look at the pictures and just like it so much. Something a bit different.

El patrón incluye opciones de capucha, volantes en mangas y cuerpo, y cortes en el delantero para pasar unos cordones. Los patrones de esta marca están siempre muy bien hechos y de hecho la semana que viene os voy a enseñar otro que estoy cosiendo en muy buena compañía!

The pattern includes options for a hood, flounce on the sleeve and hem, different lentghs, and even slits on the front to add a cord. The patterns by this brand are very well drafted and actually I will show you another one next week, and in very good company!
