Jedediah 2.0

Esta entrada se tendría que llamar "La mosca photobomber", o "Cómo molan estos pantalones que hasta les gustan a las moscas", o "Lo que tiene hacer fotos por el campo". En cualquier caso, aquí tenéis los nuevos Jedediah Pants de Ribi.

This post should be called "The photobomber fly", or "These pants are so cool that even flies love them" or "That's what happens when you take pictures on the countryside". In any case, today I am here to show you the new Jedediah Pants for Ribi.

El patrón es de Thread Theory. Después de hacerle los shorts que ya os enseñé aquí y de quedar totalmente encantada con el resultado, tenía que hacerle la versión larga. Utilicé una tela vaquera que tenía en casa, y que no es la ideal, porque tiene elasticidad y al poco de usarlos ya quedan dados de sí por todos lados.

The pattern is from Thread Theory. After making the linen shorts version that I already showed you here and being totally in love with the result, I had to sew the long version. I used some denim from my stash that has proofed not ideal for this project. The fabric has some stretch and after wearing them for a while, the pants get quite out of shape.

Aún así, no han quedado tan mal y me siento super feliz de haber superado el temor a los pantalones. Cosí la talla 30, la más pequeña. ¡Menos mal que no le van grandes!

Even with the not ideal fabric, the result isn't that bad and I am very happy to have finally overcome the fear of pants. I made size 30, the smallest, and the fit is perfect.

Y qué decir de esa bragueta. Pues que quedó peor que en los shorts. Pero tampoco hace falta ponerse perfeccionista, porque está perfecta incluso con sus imperfecciones. Hace un tiempo me dicen que voy a coser esto y me parto, vamos.

What can I say about the zip fly. It came out better in the shorts. But you know, it would be a bit irrational to go perfectionist, because even with its flaws I find it just perfect! If someone told me some time ago that I would be making jeans and flies I would have just laughed out loud as in "are you crazy?".

Estoy deseando hacerle otros en cuanto dé con una tela que me guste.

Looking forward to make another pair as soon as I find a fabric that I like.

No sé porqué ese día me dio por darle al zoom y no tengo casi ninguna foto de él entero para que se aprecien mejor en conjunto. Pero bueno, creo que os hacéis una idea de lo chulísimos que son jejeje.

I don't know why that day I went all zoom in and barely have any pictures to show you the whole general view. But you get the idea of how amazing this pattern is right?

Y por último, la pose estrella del día. La camiseta de Leonard Cohen tenía que salir sí o sí, porque es la única camiseta comprada que ha entrado en esta casa en el último año.

And to finish this post, this is the best pose of the day hehe. Leonard Cohen T-shirt had to appear no matter what. It is the only RTW bought T-shirt that entered this house in the last year. Ribi was his biggest fan, so this last piece was a must.

Jeans Recycled to Handbag

BEFORE:

Unos shorts tejanos monísimos de la muerte que me compré un día de esos que no hay tu talla pero pillas una talla menos y piensas "voy a hacer dieta y en dos semanas puedo ponérmelos"... jajajaja... Después pasan cuatro o cinco o qué sé yo cuantos años y en lugar de adelgazar una talla has aumentado dos... pero no los tiras porque no hay que perder la esperanza verdad? 

Diese kurze Hose habe ich schon zu klein gekauft mit der Hoffnung einige Kilos abzunehmen (ja klar!!). So ich habe sie niemals anziehen können, und die Jahre sind vergangen.

These super cute shorts were bought on one of those days when you convince yourself that it is ok to buy one size smaller because your size is not available but no problem you will lose weight and be able to wear it in a couple of weeks... haha sure... and then the years pass and instead of losing one size you gain two, but you don't get rid of them because you never lose hope.

AFTER:

Entonces, una vez asimilado que nunca en la vida vas a caber en ellos, un día te entra la inspiración y los conviertes en un bolso. Jajajaja, ahora sí ya puedo llevar mis shorts talla 38! Y sin dietas tú! :-D

So ich habe die Hose in eine Tasche umgewandelt, und jetzt kann ich endlich die Grösse 38 tragen ohne Diät oder Hunger! :-D

Then, once I understood that I would never ever fit in those shorts in any possible way, one day I got inspired and converted them into a bag. Hahaha... now I can wear my tiny size shorts, and I did not have to suffer any diet lol!

El proceso fue muy sencillo. Simplemente abrí las piernas (ups que mal suena eso :-D) descosí la parte interior de las piernas y las volví a coser uniendo las partes delanteras y las traseras. Debajo le cosí una base en otra tela que tenía por ahí, con una entretela rígida para reforzar, y en la cintura puse una cremallera y unas asas que también tenía en casa. No hubo manera de coser las asas a máquina así que al final lo hice a mano. También le añadí un forro con un par de bolsillos por dentro.

Es war sehr einfach. Ich habe die Hosenbeine aufgetrennt und dann vorne und hinten zusammen genäht, und dann noch ein Reissverschluss und Bügeln hinzugefügt. 

The process was simple. I just unsewed the legs and sewed back together at the front and the back. I added a base in another fabric that I had available with a thick interfacing to give some structure to the bag. I added a zipper, handles and a lining with a couple of pockets.

El bolso es muy cómodo de llevar. Aquí lo veis en acción durante este verano.

Die Tasche ist sehr bequem. Hier könnt ihr sie in Aktion sehen während den Sommer.
