Cargo Shorts en compañía

Hoy vengo a #maromartes y a #mrhandmade en muy buena compañía y con unos Cargo Shorts algo sucios y arrugados :). Esta vez nos hemos juntado cinco costureras para hacer felices a nuestros costillos, no os perdáis sus versiones, toda chulísimas:

I have made a second pair of Cargo Shorts for my hubby and today I am showing them to you here, all dirty and wrinkled :). This time I have sewn them together with four other blogger friends, and you really do not want to miss their cool makes on the links above.

Después de los primeros que le cosí y que ya os enseñé aquí, Ribi quería otros. Y sus deseos son órdenes. Especialmente ahora, que estoy a puntito de darme un capricho costuril de los gordos, así que toca mimarlo a tope y hacerle la pelota todo lo posible para que siga totalmente convencido de lo imprescindible que es este hobby mío :P.

I already showed you the first shorts here. Ribi loved them and asked for a second pair. And I was more than ready to fulfill his wish, specially at this time, because in a few days I am getting a new baby in the house, and you know what I mean by baby if I talk sewing, right? So now I have to keep doing my biggest effort to keep him happy and convinced of how important this hobby of mine is lol.

Por si alguien aún no sabe qué patrón es este, son los Cargo Shorts de Wardrobre by Me. Para que se vieran diferentes de la primera versión que cosí como tester, esta vez he omitido los bolsillos laterales y refuerzo trasero. Parece mentira que con el mismo patrón parece un pantalón totalmente distinto.

If you still don't know what this pattern is: Cargo Shorts by Wardrobe by Me. In the first version that I made as a tester, I included the pockets and back reinforcement, which looked really cool. This time I decided to omit them, to make the pants look different. It is amazing how with the same pattern it looks like two completely different shorts.

La tela, como siempre, la sarga Doker de Cal Joan. Cuando algo te gusta, pues repites... y repites. Entre los shorts y los chinos que os enseñé la semana pasada, ya son tres costuras con esta sarga que me encanta. De hecho, si no me equivoco, las cinco que nos hemos juntado hemos utilizado la misma tela!

The fabric, again, is cotton stretch twill from Cal Joan. When you love something, you repeat... and repeat. I have used this fabric in the two shorts and the chinos that I showed you last week. Actually, all five bloggers posting our shorts today have used the same fabric!

Alguien me preguntó el otro día si esta tela se arruga, y yo le dije que no mucho, y después voy y publico estos así como están jaja... Aquí no planchamos mucho y no somos muy exigentes con eso... pero si recién lavados los tiendo bien, y después los guardo bien plegaditos, quedan perfectamente ponibles sin plancha. Pero claro, si te vas de camping y se quedan tirados en la bolsa de cualquier manera durante dos días, pues entonces salen como salen. Y de camping me llevo muchos trastos, esta vez hasta la tostadora, pero la plancha como que no.

Someone asked me the other day if this fabric gets wrinkled and I answered that not that much, and then I come and post the shorts looking like this lol. So, we don't really iron clothes much here, unless it is completely unavoidable. If I hang the shorts to dry and afterwards store them carefully, they look perfectly fine. But if you go on a camping trip and the shorts are all messed up inside the bag for a couple of days, then of course things will get ugly. And I obviously did not bring my iron to camping.

Cargo Shorts

Después de la última limpieza de armario, a Ribi solo le quedaban unos shorts para el verano. Concretamente los Jedediah que le cosí el año pasado y que todavía le encantan, pero claro, unos shorts para llevar a diario durante tres meses es como un poco justo y había que solucionarlo, así que cuando anunciaron el nuevo tester de Wardrobe by me no me lo pensé dos veces. Tener fecha de entrega es la manera ideal de asegurarte de que vas a terminarlo sin riesgo a dejarlo a medias por pereza a la cremallera jaja. Seguramente me entendéis. A veces nos limitamos mentalmente de la manera más tonta.

After the last closet cleanup, Ribi had only one pair of shorts left for the summer. Specifically the Jedediah that I made for him last year and which he still loves. But obviously, one pair of shorts is not quite enough to go through the summer, so that needed to be fixed, and I jumped of joy when the new pattern test from Wardrobe by me was announced. Having a deadline is the best way to make sure that you will finish the pants, without the risk of leaving it half done because you are lazy for the zip fly lol. You know... those mental and silly limitations that we set to ourselves and lead us to procastinate forever.

El nuevo patrón Cargo Shorts de WBM es una pasada. ¡Quedan genial! Los bolsillos superpuestos de los lados y el refuerzo de detrás son la gracia del patrón, pero también son opcionales, por lo que se puede coser un look totalmente distinto si los omitimos. Los próximos que le haga serán así, para variar un poco.

The new Cargo Shorts pattern by WBM is absolutely great. The fit is so spot on! The side pockets and the back reinforcement are really cool and they are the main design features of the pattern. But they are also optional, and you can get a totally different look by omitting them. The next pair I make will be like that, to vary a bit and make it look like it is a completely different pair of shorts.

Los bolsillos de tapeta traseros han sido una grata sorpresa. El método que se explica en el patrón es muy sencillo y totalmente comprensible. En realidad, las instrucciones son muy claras en su totalidad. Evidentemente es una costura algo laboriosa, pero si sigues paso a paso el texto y las ilustraciones no tiene pérdida. Esta vez me lo tomé con mucha calma, cosiendo tranquilamente y disfrutando de cada paso. Así da gusto, que coser con prisas no es bueno.

The welt pockets have been such a pleasant surprise. The system used in the pattern to create those pockets is the easiest that I have ever seen. Actually, the complete instructions are absolutely clear and easy to follow. Sewing the pants takes obviously some time, but nothing can't go wrong if you follow the step by step texts and illustrations. I usually tend to sew fast and finish things as if I were on a race, but this time I enjoyed going slowly and paying full attention to every detail. It has been a pleasure to sew these shorts!

Por supuesto, tengo que hablaros también de la tela, porque me ha encantado. Se trata de la sarga docker twill de Cal Joan. Es una sarga de algodón con elastano que le da un poco de elasticidad y hace que sea super cómoda de llevar. Además se cose muy bien.

The fabric that I used is a cotton twill with elastane from Cal Joan. It is a high quality, so easy to sew and so pleasant to wear. Will use it again for sure, and it is the perfect match for this pattern.

¿Os habéis fijado en los botones? Parecen rotos jeje, me enamoré en cuanto los vi en la mercería. No os miréis mucho los pespuntes, que mi máquina, pobre, no da para más.

Did you see the buttons? They look like broken, I just fell in love when I saw them in the shop! Don't pay much attention to the topstitching, please. My little sewing machine, poor girl, can't do any better.

Ribi dice que los shorts son comodísimos, y además le van clavados. En tiendas, normalmente solo encuentras las tallas pares y se tiene que comprar la 40, aunque le sobre un poco, porque la 38 le va pequeña. El patrón, en cambio, lleva todas las tallas, de la 27" a la 36", así que he podido coserle la 29", que le va perfecta.

My husband says the shorts are super comfortable to wear and they fit him perfect. In the RTW there is usually only the even sizes available, so very often he has to get the 30", even if a little too big, because the 28" is too small. This time he got a perfect fitting 29"! The pattern includes all sizes from 27" to 36".

También le hice otra camiseta con una tela de una tienda francesa, Mamzelle Fourmi. Poco a poco vamos llenando su armario, que falta le hace.

So much so, that he made me sew another one. This time with a fabric from a french shop, Mamzelle Fourmi. Little by little I am filling his closet with handmade clothes! 

Los Cargo Shorts valen mucho la pena. Es una patrón muy muy chulo, y no lo digo porque haya sido tester. Sientan fenomenal y Ribi está encantadísimo con ellos. Hasta el 7 de julio van a estar de oferta por un precio reducido, y yo de vosotras no lo dejaría escapar, porque no hay muchos patrones disponibles de este estilo.
