The other day we went to Barcelona and tried a new chinese restaurant. It was delicious and we ate wayyyy too much. Luckily the dress is loose enough and we could still take these pictures on our way back to the car.
I am so in love with my new Southport dress, a pattern by True Bias. The pattern is amazing, the instructions so detailed, and the sewalong really helpful for when you dare yourself into a sea of firsts. This was my second dress ever, my first time making buttonholes (that was scary!) and my first time matching the pattern of a fabric (even more scary!). Call it beginner's luck, but everything went smoothly and the only thing to regret is not having it done earlier to enjoy it all summer.
That day i had an all handmade/refashioned outfit. I bought this men's cardigan for 3 euros at the end of the sales, loved the touch and feel of the fabric and it did fit me well, all I had to do was sew along the sleeves to make them narrower and done! The handbag was made out of a pair of shorts that I could not fit into anymore. I will show it to you in another post.
El otro día fuimos a Barcelona y nos dimos un festín en un restaurante chino al que no habíamos ido nunca antes, Memorias de China, ¡totalmente recomendable! Suerte que el vestido es suelto, sino no hubiésemos podido sacar las fotos de vuelta al coche :-).
Me encanta mi nuevo vestido Southport, un patrón de True Bias fantástico, con instrucciones muy detalladas y un cose conmigo de lo más útil cuando vas a sumergirte en un mundo nuevo. Este es el segundo vestido que he cosido en la vida, mi primera vez con los ojales (¡qué miedo!) y mi primera vez intentando que el estampado cuadrara (¡horror!). Será la suerte del principiante, pero lo conseguí sin muchos problemas, aunque sí hubo algún momento de tensión jeje... Lo único de lo que me arrepiento es de no haberlo cosido antes para disfrutarlo todo el verano. La tela es de algodón, comprada en Ribes i Casals de Barcelona.
Además del vestido, también hice el bolso y modifiqué el jersey. Este lo compré en el remate final de las rebajas por unos 3 euros. Era de hombre, pero me encantó el aspecto y tacto de la tela, y con solo estrecharle las mangas me va perfecto. El bolso también lo hice yo con unos shorts vaqueros en los que ya no cabía. ¡Os lo muestro en otra entrada!
